"You are so cruel, Sasuke-kun."
No reply.
"Don't you want to escape the cold altogether?"
No reply. Not a sound.
"Very well, then."
Sasuke still had his fill of arrogance. But it just wasn't the same anymore. The darkness did nothing for him, but it still killed him gradually.
Sincerely, he did feel empty. He did want to escape the cold.
But alas, he was beginning to drown when he found himself in too deep.
Who are you?
He asked.
Me? I'm all in your head, Sasuke. It's a ritual that got me here. Your prayers of succeeding in kill your brother. That's who I am.
I will kill him.
He retorted.
Will you wear that worn down mask even at your funeral? There's no way you can succeed. I'm your prayer. You had doubts in me. How could you? How dare you?
I never had doubts.
You don't recognize your doubts? They were small, I admit. But they were there. If you go back to same place years ago, and seek in your nostalgic mind, you'll remember. You had doubts. Doubts lead to hamartia. And look where you are now.
What the hell are you?
Me? I'm the narrator of your life, Sasuke. I know you didn't hear me long ago…
But I was there. Now that you can hear me, tell me, have you gone insane?
No reply.
Your friends were too good for you. Too kind and generous, lending a graceful hand to a fool like you.
You can't lie to me, Sasuke. Lies are nonexistent in this world of mine. But, you probably know that already. You're a genius, after all.
No reply. Not a sound.
Maybe one day you'll listen to my words of wisdom.
When you do, I will be there.
"I will always be there."
A/N: I think it's a creepy ending. Oh well, right?
