Ouranos looked into his sons eyes.
Since Gaea gave birth to their children, the Cyclopes, and the Titans, Gaea has been planning his downfall for quite some time now. Ouranos knew this, but he knew he couldn't escape his Fate.
Gaea has been burning in rage ever since he threw their first set of children to Tartarus imprisoned by KampĂȘ. Although she was in rage every time Ouranos threw one of their children to Tartarus, he immediately knew that their new son was more special than the rest of them. Gaea actually agreed to throw their new son into Tartarus, which he found quite suspicious.
Ouranos walked through the sky palace to the chamber of the Fates, the wise women who threaded the fates of mankind. On his way to the Fates, he saw Kronos and Gaea in deep discussion, no doubt plotting against him, but he just kept going, with the baby in his arms.
He walked inside the chamber of the Fates, judging by their reaction, they were waiting for him.
"Fates, I present the newborn of Gaea, my son, Perseus." He showed the Fates, but yet they were motionless, as if reading the future of his son.
"Your fate draws near, Ouranos. You have little time to hide the child from Gaea, as your sons plot against you. Goodbye, Ouranos." The Fates said in a raspy voice. Their eyes focused back to the ball of yarn weaving the fates of mankind.
LINEBREAK
"Why would I take young Perseus into my company, Ouranos?"
"Perseus is special, Mary. If Gaea wanted to throw him down into Tartarus, no doubt he is special. The Fates themselves foresee the future of Perseus." Ouranos looked into the sky impatiently and handed Mary, a young nymph, the toddler into her hands.
"I will not be around forever, Mary." Ouranos backed out of the house. In a brilliant flash of light, he vanished.
"Well, young Perseus, it looks like I'm your new mother." Mary grinned at him. Although, her eyes were full of sadness, for she knew the fate of Ouranos.
Mary settled Perseus into a comfortable bed and headed outside looking into the sky, her eyes tearing lightly.
Ouranos has been kind to Mary, unlike the other nymphs. He showed her kindness and gave her beautiful things, not in an act of romance, but in an act of friendship. Although, she knew that it would never last. For Mary knew Gaea was impatient with him.
"Goodbye, Ouranos." She whispered lightly into the sky.
"Farewell, Mary." The sky responded. Mary slowly drew her eyes to the sky waiting for his fate to come upon Ouranos.
A horrible wail filled the skies as the clouds dimmed greatly. All the nymphs crawled out of their shelters, looking confused at the sky.
In the house, Perseus awoke looking through the open sky before him. He began tearing lightly, for something was wrong with the beautiful sky that laid before him.
Ouranos is dead.
