Chapter 1 -Run Away-Maximum Ride
Her legs are straining as she sees ground whizzing behind. The forest floor stabs into the soles of her feet, looking up she is welcomed by endless green, Trees, trees and more trees. She jumps attempting to launch herself up in to the orange sky above. Her deep espresso brown eyes swirl with confusion, anger and regret. Blond strains fling in her face. The forest cleared out leaving a ledge, the cliff and the rushing sea below. Inside she was cowering away. Skidding and running the opposite direction, but her heart ruled over the mind. The cliff grew closer. Waves crashed up against the rocky wall. Her legs burned now. Oh, how she wanted to jump, to end it all. So she did. Squeezing her eyes shut, she leaped. Weightless, squinting her eyes open slightly, she gawked at the water, thought she was flying, but instead plummeting to her death, heavier than a rock.
I shot straight up, till I was perfectly erect. Still in the same place I woke up in, a room, for the first time in a longtime. I felt chills bolt down my spine, reaching behind cautiously me checking for something. I sigh. My wings, they're still there, "Thank God." I mutter. I look directly ahead to find myself gazing at a laptop, half way open. The battery must have died overnight. I trace the outlet on the left side of the desk, discovering that I didn't plug it in. I sigh and lean back into the office chair. This is probably the third time I fell asleep at the computer this week. The only reason is the owner, or I guess the FORMER owner, Fang. Chocking back a sob, I stood up and move slowly to the bathroom. I grip the door and glare at my reminder of him, Crunch. My eyes dart to my hand. It is crushing the wooden door. Pulling away, I turn towards the bathroom once more, Ready to take my twenty minutes of peace till I have to walk back into my "reality."
