Four Black Mages

A Final Fantasy 1 poem by Father Hulk

Final Fantasy 1

A/N: Hello everyone! This is just a quickie poem I thought of in the tub (which is where most of my best ideas come to me ;;). It's based on one of my favorite parties to choose in the game. I hope you enjoy it. BTW, I do not own Final Fantasy, it's parent or subsidiary games and universes, and any phenomena associated with it, save for this story. That being said, enjoy!

Four Black Mages are we,
Come from over land and sea,
Wielding Teleport and Fire 3,
Four Black Mages are we.

They call us the Warriors of Light,
Sounding strange as though it might,
Called forth to set the future free,
Four Black Mages are we.

Sent over to the Chaos Shrine,
Such evil there that was divine,
We obtained fair Sarah's liberty,
Four Black Mages are we.

Our road took 'cross distant lands,
With monsters nipping at our hands,
A quick Lit spell is the last they'll see,
Four Black Mages are we.

An Orb for each part of life,
They had gone dark and thus the strife,
Decay was all that we would see,
Four Black Mages are we.

A Fiend, or so he called himself,
Waited for us with quiet stealth,
We knocked him out and Earth was free,
Four Black Mages are we.

The Crescent Lake across the sea,
A moon-shaped littoral fantasy,
There we learned to travel rivers free,
Four Black Mages are we.

Through a cavern made of ice,
Our fire magic did suffice,
A mystic stone we all did see,
Four Black Mages are we.

The Castle of Ordeals does hold
Something more valuable than gold,
An item of peculiarity,
Four Black Mages are we.

Venturing into the volcano sweltering,
We thought our flesh would soon be melting,
Marilith was in that fiery sea,
Four Black Mages are we.

To travel to the ocean deep,
Where treasure and great danger sleep,
We'd need to buy a small faerie,
Four Black Mages are we.

The language of an ancient race,
Written on a stone's broad face,
Mystic wonders we would see,
Four Black Mages are we.

A tower to the heavens high,
As the world begins to sigh,
The final orb would regain glory,
Four Black Mages are we.

An evil with a heart so black,
Caused the fabric of time to crack,
So evil that we're not worthy,
Four Black Mages are we.

A battle to make the heavens quake,
The seas to rage and land to shake,
We struck down our great enemy,
Four Black Mages are we.

The future healed and time repaired,
So went the story of our journey fair,
And long after, people would say,
Four Black Mages were they.
