I'm so sorry! This was meant to be up yesterday, but the site wasn't working for me. I was furious.
Thanks for all your reviews for my other stories, I can't even begin to tell you how much they mean to me, but if you've published before I think you know how it feels. :)
Here it is, the story set in Chamber of Secrets.
Disclaimer: Harry Potter is J.K. Rowling's.
Fury. It's rushing through him, like a raging fire. It's making his blood boil, his temper snap. No one, no one, calls Hermione Granger that and gets away with it.
She is so much more. If someone is asked to describe her in one word, they'd probably answer 'smart'. And she is smart, very. And yet, Hermione is also kind, caring, generous, helpful, honest and loyal. Her blood status does not affect that. Hermione is a wonderful person.
That Malfoy git struts around, thinking he's so much better. He thinks he can take her down with that cruel word – he can't though. Hermione's stronger than that.
That doesn't mean he can call her that though.
Just because Hermione doesn't care what Malfoy thinks, just because Hermione is a strong person, it doesn't mean that she wouldn't be hurt by that remark. The only person who can tease Hermione is Ron, because he knows where to draw the line. Malfoy purposely set out to crush her, to hurt her, and for that, he will pay.
So Ron, without thinking, without caring about the consequences of casting a hex with a broken wand - because it doesn't matter, all he wants is Malfoy's smirk and Hermione's shocked expression to be wiped away - blurts out a threat, waves his wand, and as a result ends up flat on the ground, vomiting slugs.
It was still worth it though. It was nice to save Hermione, rather than the other way around. It was nice to be her hero for once.
Thanks for reading, I'd love to hear what you think. :)
Next story, set in Prisoner of Azkaban, will be up tomorrow.
