Harry potter was 15 almost 16 when he received on of the biggest surprises of his young life. It had all started like any other day for Harry.

In fact things were going great for Harry. Well, as great as things at the Dursleys could get. He was moved up to the 2nd bedroom and was even allowed letters from his friends. Things were finally starting to look up. It was only the second week out of school and he was enjoying it immensely. Out of everything that came his way the most curious letter one with a worn enveloped. Harry's first reaction to receiving the letter was the thought "what the heck". Who would be sending him a letter that was this old and worn? The letter could be many things. It could be from Dumbledore. Or Hermione she would probably send something to him that was old. But…. There was a slim possibility that it was a trap from Voldemort. Voldemort was his proclaimed enemy after all.

But all thought of Voldemort vanished when he took a second look at the letter. He was enthralled by the letter. It was like the letter was a beacon drawing him closer and closer until he decided to read it.

If anyway was in the room with Harry they would have heard him whisper to himself. His curiosity involving the letter was so deep that he had begun to whisper to himself " what could be in this letter?". He then noticed his whispering and inwardly laughed at himself. He was beginning to sound like Hermione.

He knew that what ever was in the envelope had to have quite a lot included in it. The package was as nearly as thick as his mattress! So naturally he opened the letter making sure not to damage it. Who ever had wrote the note must have read it numerous times before sealing it because the pages were creased. That's we he noticed the other items of the letter. There was a letter an a medium size book.

He read the letter first the handwriting was familiar to him. It was his mother's. He knew it was hers as soon as he saw the words. How could he not know her handwriting he had gazed at it so much whenever he looked at the memory book Hagrid gave him. The letter described so much. The farther he read the more he was shocked.
