I own everything

I am the forgotten princess, the eldest child of four. The one who never fit in. I am Princess Alexa.

Jade and Isabella are the perfect, talented daughters who waste their days away gossiping and shopping for new dresses, always giggling as a handsome boy crossed their path. Mark, who was only a baby, drooled wherever he crawled. Yet he was loveable. I wasn't allowed to be around him for my parents feared I might teach him my ways.

King Xavier and Queen Heather were my parents. They cared only for my sisters and brother, and themselves. They were selfish, inconsiderate, haughty people. Though they were beautiful on the outside they were ugly people inside.

I take after my father. Black hair that falls to my elbows, and bright blue eyes. I was tall, with long legs and long arms. I loathe pink and only wear black, green, brown, blue, and gray. Unlike my sisters who only wear pink.

I glanced out my window and saw a carriage pull up the driveway. Prince Nick was here. My parents were searching for someone to marry me off to so they don't have to put up with me anymore.

I walked over to my wardrobe and pulled out a black gown. It was floor length and the sleeves went to my wrists wear it curved around my hand into a triangle and the points ended at my middle finger. There was gold embroidery across my chest. I pulled out black flats and slipped those on.

I let my hair just lay limp against my back and placed my silver crown on top. It was only a simple band. I was not worthy of nice things. I don't care; I'd rather have normal parents. I walked out of my room and silently padded down stairs.

When I was 15, I was so quiet; my sisters called me a ghost girl. They still call me the cruel name, but I don't mind. I am quiet and I don't talk unless spoken to.

I slipped into the foyer and stood by my sisters and parents. Mark was being held by my mother. She glared at me.

"Do not mess things up this time, am I understood?" she snapped at me.

"Yes, Mother." I said quietly. I had a sudden interest with the floor. I heard the heavy front doors open and I lifted my head up, my eyes cold and hard.

"Prince Nick!" my mother gushed as she swept forward to greet him. My sisters followed suit except got a little too comfy when he kissed their hands.

He didn't look to bad, brown hair that was cropped closely to his head and hazel eyes that flitted lazily around the room. He was slightly taller than my father and wore polished shoes. I could tell right away he was horrible.

"Ah, Princess Alexa, soon to be a queen." He said with a smirk on his face. I raised an eyebrow.

"Prince Nick." I said, showing no emotion, and snatching my hand away before he could kiss it. My parents gave a nervous laugh.

"Pardon the princess's behavior, she is shy." My father said. "Err lets go to the Dining Room." He said in a hasty attempt to cover up my attitude.

"Oh good I'm famished." The Prince said and my sisters giggled saying they were too. I wouldn't doubt it. When there was food they daintily picked a little of it and swirled it around their plate to make it look like they ate.

"I'm not, may I leave now?" I asked without a glance at my parents or the prince I turned on my heel and left, my dress swirled around my ankles. Behind me I heard my parents stammer, trying to cover up my evident mistakes, again.

I heels clacking against the floor behind me. I turned ready for the blow coming my way.

"I believe I told you not to mess things up tonight!" My mother spoke in a harsh whisper. She grabbed my arm and led me back to the dining room. At the entrance she let go of me but, not before pinching me. She told me to smile.

I do not want to smile.

Tell me what you think!
