A Harry Potter fanfiction.
Chapter one:
Harry Potter and his friends heard the screeching of the Hogwarts express, the shrieks of the steam engines, and knew instantly that they had arrived. Hastily, they put on the deep black wizarding robes that fell gently to their ankles, with emblems of their houses on the left side, the Gryffindor Lion. They scattered themselves among hundreds of other Hogwartians excitedly exiting the train, waiting admission. Harry watched as his best friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley took each others hand, amidst the usual commotion, smiling and conversing in low whispers as though unaware that just behind them, Harry followed with a sort of meek expression on his thin face. His almond-shaped, bottle green eyes widened in surprise as he felt a brushing reaction from his right hand, soft familiar fingers inserted themselves into the spaces between his.
"You seem a bit more occupied than usual," His girlfriend, Ginny Weasely, Ron's little sister, remarked as she attempted to keep up with him. Her long hair, sizzling like fire despite the darkening surroundings, swept past her face, and her bright brown eyes gleamed with a certain passion that caused Harry to swallow.
"What d'you mean?" He asked. Ginny was spared from answering as they stumbled before the school carriage Ron and Hermione saved just for the four of them. Helping Ginny unto the carraige, he tried to hide a grimace as Ron placed his long hand against Hermione's blushing cheek, and snogged her fervently. "Get a room, won't you?" Harry mumbled irritably, eyes set on the ground.
Releasing herself from Ron's clutches, panting like she had just done a 20-mile run, Hermione grinned widely, showing her rather large front teeth. "Sorry," Bushing once more. Harry's insides tightened as Hermione's brown eyes met his, they shone like the heavens from his perspective.
Ginny's eyebrows shot to their extent. She secured her grip, and furtively glanced from Harry to Hermione the whole trip while Ron counted his ancient collection of chocolate frog cards.
They arrived, eventually, a bit later than most. Harry breathed deeply as he get off the carraige, and braced himself for his 7th , and final year at Hogwarts.
