"I'm giving it to you. Take it." Axel stated suddenly, abruptly breaking Roxas from the daze of his deep thoughts. Without any explanation, the taller man stood, outstretching his arms and placing two hands in front of himself.

"Giving me what?" The blonde asked, looking at the older man a bit quizzically.

"My heart."

There was a pause.

"Axel," Roxas laughed softly. Whether it was because he found the situation ridiculous, or because the words had caused some sort of pain, it was hard to tell. "You know that Nobodies don't have…"

The words slowly choked themselves in his throat when he realized; Axel was not simply holding out his hands.

The redhead's gloved fingers were cradling the air in front of him, possessing his greatest treasure. A second's carelessness, and the nothing would fall from his palms and shatter, spilling shards across the floor. Roxas knew then.

Axel truly believed something was there.
