Echos That Linger

A/N: OMG! Another amazing episode this week! Inspired by RVB Season 10 Episode 15, a little drabble that got stuck in my head. *If you haven't seen the episode, it could be a spoiler*

He couldn't stop her. He never could. But, he could be supportive. He always was. He knew Tex was a bad-ass, she was downright scary. But he knew, he believed Carolina could come on top. And York was confident in his Carolina.

But then...he showed up. And he was pissed. And as soon as he saw the two of them running at each other, he freaked out. And he brought them all to their knees with the echoing cry of "Allison!" It shook him to the bone, it knocked him off his feet. The pain, the sincerity, the feeling in that name. Delta's wail of anguish in his head was enough to drive him crazy. It scared him to death. It wouldn't stop! Allison! Just make it stop!

He finally got to his feet and looked down on the training room floor. And his heart broke. There she lay, Carolina, his Carolina, the best girl he ever knew, completely immobilized. She was screaming, curled up on the floor, crying out for help. Just make it stop! She was broken. And nobody, nobody was helping her. Why didn't he do anything? He could only watch as Tex took Carolina in her arms and knocked her out. And the name was lingering, echoing inside his head, inside Delta, inside that whole god-damn room. Allison.

York felt completely defeated.
