"Saix."
He paused at the door, resisting the urge to snap. He was controlled, he knew how to keep his savagery inside. He turned, "Yes, Superior?"
There was a moment of silence and then a bored, "It has come to my knowledge that you could be involved with the deaths of Zexion and Vexen. Is this true?"
He wouldn't have asked that if he had thought otherwise. "Yes."
Again there was silence before, "Come here, number VII." He obeyed, keeping the annoyance off his face. Xemnas eyed him for a minute and then said, "Closer. You surely can't expect me to deal out punishment from so far."
He was ordered to come closer until there was barely any distance between them. In fact, if Saix leaned his head even an inch forward, his forehead would probably end up hitting Xemnas' nose or forehead. Silence thickened the air around them until he asked, "Is this good enough, Superior?" He allowed a mocking tone to enter his voice, letting out some of the contempt he almost felt.
But he was heartless and thus only remembered the feeling. And how he would be feeling it if he had a heart.
A heart.
That was why he put up with this man.
"Yes." The man's amused reply grated against his ear. If only he could reach out and smack the man. But he could not. "Close your eyes." He narrowed his eyes but then, keeping up his appearance, obeyed the nobody. However, it didn't seem to be enough, he felt the man tie cloth over his eyes.
What an amazing punishment, he thought dryly. To be blind for an hour or two.
Then he felt breath hitting his lips and froze. What was Xemnas doing? A deep chuckle resounded in his ears. "You thought that was all, VII?"
Yes.
He remained silent, wondering what the man could achieve by breathing on his face. It was unnerving in a way. Him so close. Uncomfortable. But not terrifying or mollifying. A hand-Xemnas'-held his chin steady.
That, too, was uncomfortable. And verged on disturbing.
But he remained still, determined to last and remain calm. After all, these emotions stirring to the surface weren't real. They were reflections cast by memories of his true self and could be ignored and restrained-because, like him, they didn't really exist.
He was convinced of this until he felt lips against his. Shock coursed through his body, freezing him to the core, before he rebelled, instinctively throwing the other man off of him with a snarl. That had never been felt in his memories. He reached back, pulling off the blindfold, and glowered over at Xemnas. "May I ask why you just kissed me, Superior?"
The other man turned, a smirk clear on his face. "That was your punishment."
He narrowed his eyes, savagery slipping in as he felt the muscles in his back and shoulders bunch up. "I'd've preferred a beating or fall in rank."
"Which is why those weren't what you got." Xemnas began to walk away, "I assume you're still chasing after Axel?"
"That is my mission."
Xemnas paused in his walk and turned. "And even if it wasn't, you'd still be chasing after him, no?" He glared. "It was why you two worked together and why you're so determined to drag him back. You still cherish the friendship that you had with him as a human."
"I cherish nothing."
"Of course not," he retorted impassively. "Then... you'll accept when I tell you the mission is canceled."
That bastard was lucky he was the only one who could finish Kingdom Hearts. If he wasn't, he'd be dead. Not even dead. Past that.
"VI... Saix." He stiffened at his name. "Don't give me the upperhand again. It ruins all the fun."
Inside, he was ready to rip out the man's throat. On the outside, he nodded and left before the damnable bastard confused him even more.
He shouldn't be able to be so confused if he couldn't feel.
Xemnas was such a bitch.
Xemnas is a bitch. But he owns you, foo'! Had to. :3
