I thought I was dead, but I was cold. Someone spoke to me, so I probably was not dead. Slowly I opened my eyes and looked into the beautiful brown eyes of a young man.
He looked surprised, as if I was something special, but I did not understand why. I tried to sit up, but I was too tired.
"You should lie down," said the man had a huge regret in those beautiful eyes.
"Where are my parents," I asked, when I remembered our accident, but my voice was shaking winter.
He saw it, he took off his jacket and covered me by him.
"I'm sorry," he said, "but I managed to save only you."
So that the sorrow was me and before I knew it, my eyes started to tears.
"That's not possible," I whispered.
I do not know how long I cried, but it was terribly painful.
"What is your name?" He asked quietly.
"Elena," I whispered, but I was unaware of it. I felt the terrible emptiness that permeated me.
What do I say about Jeremy, I thought in dismay.
I felt the unknown took me in his arms and carried me away.
"Everything will be all right," he repeated to me, but I knew that he knew he would not.
Even though he had such a soothing voice, it did not help. It hurt more and more.
"Who are you?" I asked, because I needed to talk to someone.
"My name is Elijah," he answered with a momentary hesitation and then I could only think of their pain.
After a while I fell asleep from exhaustion.
I woke up in the hospital. Sitting next to my bed with a worried Aunt Jenna look. As soon as she saw that I was awake, she said: "Oh, Elena. I'm so sorry. "
"Aunt Jenna, what's up with Jeremy?" I took care of his little brother.
"We just went for coffee. For a while back, "she replied miserably.
"It's my fault."
"Sun Elena's not anyone's fault. No one could know what might happen. It was just an accident, "she reassured me Jenna, but much she could not. I was really awful.
They are dead because of me, I repeated to myself.
Jenna reassured me away, but I felt terrible guilt.
"What about the man who saved me?" I asked.
Jenna shrugged, grateful for the change of subject and said: "No one knows anything about him. The doctors just brought you here left and right. "
It made me worry, but I was too tired to deal with anything other than the death of my parents.
When I was released from the hospital, so I tried to find out about it some more, but nothing except the names I did not know about it.
Elijah. No one by that name lived in Mystic Falls and not even anywhere near, I did not know anyone like that.
On the Internet I have not found anything to match its name and appearance. It was special. Almost as if it did not exist.
Less than a year later:
I stood in the hall, unknown to me, the house and waited for a vampire named Elijah. He had the same name as my savior, but it was too unlikely that he just saved me, because why would I had taken him, if I so much standing.
It was pointless. In the hands I clutched a piece of paper from Bonnie and wondering if in fact he walked into the room. Elijah. A vampire who saved me.
