A thunderstorm. Oh, joy.
A very vicious thunderstorm.
And it just had to happen on a Sunday. Greaaat.

So here they are: Maka and Soul at their small, yet cozy apartment, with their weekend plans ruined.

They were supposed to meet their friends today, just to hang out a little. Maybe go to the movies, or play a simple game of basketball.

But the stupid storm had to happen today. Soul imagined it laughing at him as he stared grumpily out of the window, rather than looking at the TV.
He always claimed the same. He hated the rain. Again and again it caused trouble and nothing more than that. Proof of it was what was happening outside the apartment.

Soul had woken up in a bad mood, as soon as he heard the storm. He was sure that one like this would not have stopped by the time they were supposed to meet Black Star and the others, making him adopt a grumpy mood till now.

On the other hand, Maka wasn`t too disappointed. She wanted to meet their friends, yes, but she hadn`t been too thrilled to leave their home. She was usually an indoors person, preferring to stay inside, reading her beloved books. This annoyed Soul to the extreme, since he had to practically beg for her to leave for them to enjoy themselves for a little bit.

"Oh, no…"

Now she was grumpy as well, though.

She sat down on the couch next to her weapon, an annoyed look upon her face.

"What?"

"I`ve already read every single book in here, that`s what!"

He raised one eyebrow.

"Should` ve saved for later, don`t you think? Think about the tomorrow next time, Maka."

She rolled her eyes.

"How could I have guessed there would be a storm today? I couldn`t have guessed we`d have to stay in, right?"

"Yeah, sure, I suppose."

She sighed. Complaining wouldn`t get her anywhere, so she might as well try to do something to distract herself.

"What`s on TV?" she asked, mildly curious.

"What I`m supposed to be watching?" he sniggered "No idea. Haven`t been paying attention. Too busy cursing this stupid weather. How uncool…"

" Well, just forget about it, Soul. There´s nothing we can do. Let`s just watch this or something…"

So they did. But it was some random soap opera they did not know, being useless to watch it, as they did not understand the plot.

"I`ll check the rest of the channels…" he muttered, grabbing the remote control.

"All right."

Random commercials.

"Eat Honey nut cheerios!"

Soul skipped some more channels, and…
Light. A lot of light.

"FOOLS!"

"Excalibur?" both teens blurted out.

Soul was the first to recover and continued his search for the perfect TV show.

"Meeooowww…"

"MEOWW!"

"Cat porn?! Soul, take this off!"

"Hey, it`s not like it`s my fault. But it´s pretty hot…"

If he thought he`d been able to say the last words quietly enough, the Maka Chop he got proved him wrong.

And then the electricy went off.

No light, no TV, no nothing.

Now they could really yell how happy they were.

"S- Soul?"

"What?"

"I can`t see a thing…"

"No, really?" he retorted, without thinking.

Another Maka Chop.

"Don`t make fun of me! I just… don`t like this, that`s all."

They heard a noise.

"What was that?!" Maka yelled, grabbing on to Soul`s jacket tightly.

"The neighbour…. "

"...Oh."

She was about to let go, but-

"Wait." He said "Just come here. I might be wrong."

She hesitated, but obeyed, while he wrapped his arms around her.

"I was kidding." He whispered.

"I knew that." He could feel her smiling. She didn`t seem to have any intentions to let go.

"Besides, " he muttered, "it`s kinda warm like this, right?"

She grinned and lifted her head. He winked at her and pressed his lips against hers.

He didn`t care about when the storm would stop anymore. He actually was in no hurry for it to.
Perhaps he`ll reconsider how he feels about this weather if more days like this come.

-X-

That was bigger than normal… Hm.
Ah, well, never mind!
Hope you had your fun. ^^ Thanks!
