Abby was humming along cheerfully to her music as she did her forensics evidence. It was the first time in a long time that she'd loved a song enough to keep in on repeat, but here she was.
Abby needed a break. For some reason, her brain just did not feel like dealing with fingerprints and blood spatter today. She was distracted by the music.
She grabbed a nearby broom and began to dance with it, singing along loudly to the music. She was getting really caught up in it too, when-
"Uh, Abby?"
"Oh! Hi, Tim!" she grinned, placing the broom back where she found it and smoothing out her lab coat.
"Alicia Keys?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
"What? What's wrong with that?" Abby pouted slightly.
"Didn't strike you as the type," McGee said. He was about to say something about the case when the song restarted and Abby interrupted.
"I keep on fallin'… iiiiinnnn… love, with you…" she trailed off. Abby was a surprisingly good singer, Tim noticed.
"Do you want someone other to dance with besides a broom?" Tim grinned.
"Aww, McGee, I thought you'd never ask!" Abby said happily. The two began an impromptu waltz.
I never loved someone the way I love you, oh, oh, oh…
Abby sang along the whole time, perfectly in tune. Although McGee didn't know the words, he could still dance, which was good enough for both of them.
And so they danced.
And Gibbs stopped in, with the intention of telling them to get back to work and stop their frivolity, but he stopped himself and decided to just let them be for now.
I keep on fallin' in and out of love with you…
The song finished, leaving Abby and McGee dancing slowing to no music.
Slowly, McGee kissed Abby's forehead, let go of her waist, and took a step back. The two of them shared a prolonged look before McGee coughed and asked her how the case was coming. She answered his questions in her usual manner.
It was as of nothing had ever happened.
But both of them knew that the dance had just changed everything.
I AM SUCH A SAP. T~T
Teehee. McAbby is so cute. And I was listening to this song and I just decided to write something for them, and so I did!
