Within that haunted abyss,
Deep inside me, but hard to miss,
There lies a great power
A terrible strength.
My eyes scan the horizon
As dark clouds burst.
Each drop the worst,
I cannot relax.
The drops become more frequent.
And much heavier.
My blood mixes with rain,
Though I do not feel the pain.
I've gone far past slipping
My rage becomes insanity.
No one has noticed my change.
Now the rain is simply dripping.
Deep inside that haunted abyss
Far within me, but hard to miss,
That dark power threatens to resurface.
Just the thought of him makes me nervous.
My blood mixes with tears,
The rain no longer falls.
Far better than I've felt in years,
Yet I resist Insanity's call.
I will not waver again.
My ground will not be shaken.
Of course, that will change again
When once again he awakens.
A/N: We had a storm. I do my best writing when I'm staring out the door/window at a storm. I took the opportunity to get some inspiration for a poem, and this is what came of it.
