A/N: I saw Last Chance High today and the ending left me in tears

A/N: I saw Last Chance High today and the ending left me in tears. In case you haven't seen it, Doug and Tom basically agree to retire from being the McQuaid brothers and they do the McQuaid handshake/salute (whichever it is) and Tom jumps into Doug's arms. I don't know if that was scripted, the whole jump into the arms bit, but it was perfect for those two. Anyways, I didn't cry but I did tear up knowing that that was the end and it was all changing now. It was sort of a goodbye to Johnny and a goodbye to 21 Jump Street because face it, it went down hill after he left. Oh, and for copyright's sake, I don't own 21 Jump Street. Anyways, I wanted to write this after seeing this episode tonight so I hope you enjoy. BUT BE WARNED, I suck tremendously at poetry!

It's time to retire

Let's hang up our bandanas

Put away the ripped jeans

And faded plaids

It's time to retire

It's time to put it all to an end

This masquerade of youth

We have changed now

Pain

Suffering

Loss

It's all worn us away

And now we are nothing but mere shadows of ourselves

It's time to retire

Put an end to this double life

We aren't them

We have to learn

There's more to us than them

It's time to retire

Shrug our shoulders

Out of the jackets

Hang up the bandanas

The plaids

The flannel

It's time to retire now

We are different

We are changed

Let us close the door on them

And walk away

Let us lay this casket in the dirt

And walk away

We can never visit them again

We can never go back to the way things were

Before

Isolation

Loss

Venality

Things change

People change

We change

It's time to retire

From this masquerade we partake in

You are Penhall

I am Hanson

No longer shall we go by the name of McQuaid

They are a thing of a past

We will never see again

But do not fret

Do not fuss

You see dear brother

Despite this goodbye

They are us

You are Penhall

I am Hanson

Brothers forever we shall be

It's time to retire

Let's hang up our bandanas

Put away the ripped jeans

And faded plaids

It's time to retire

It's time to put it all to an end

This masquerade of youth

But remember dear brother

Despite this departure

We shall be brothers

Always and forever more

No cover

No cops

No badges

(we don't need no stinking badges any way)

No team

No force

Just us

Always and forever more
