In the rundown Dakota Mental Asylum, a loud order was heard.
"Leo! Gimme' an update on what's been happenin' while I was under lockdown."
One of the occupants cringed when his name was called. The man gulped; his tawny shoulder length hair falling in front of his face, in an attempt to hide from his shadow like leader.
"U-um, w-well sir," Leo stuttered, he was not looking forward to his leader's reaction to the news he held. Leo said, "Slipstream, Boom, Puuuff and Onyx were puuut on lockdown..." Leo glanced up, he didn't want to tell his leader who it was that helped Static and Gear put them away.
Two shadow-like hands tightened around the armrests of the chair.
Purple hair appeared in Leo's vision, and he fought to not jump fifteen feet into the air.
"That's not all, Ebon," the purple haired man, Shiv, sung. Leo looked at the floor, already knowing that Ebon would be glowering at him.
"What ch'you tryin' to keep from me, Leo."
It wasn't a question, it was a demand.
Leo tried to shrink into himself; but sadly he didn't have that power, so he just looked helplessly at the green haired girl next to him.
She just shrugged, murmuring, "Sorry Kitty."
'Thanks for the support Hacker,' Leo thought, before taking in a deep breath.
"."
Ebon just stared at him, before saying, "What?"
Leo gulped again before saying more slowly, "It was Hotstreak that helped Static and Gear put the others into lockdown." The next thing Leo knew, he was slammed up against the wall. His brain was being denied oxygen, courtesy of Ebon.
"Don't lie to me," Ebon growled.
"He's not lying," Hacker blurted, her eyes widened and she promptly slapped her hand over her mouth.
Ebon loosened his grip when Leo started to turn purple.
"They're both telling the truth for once, Ebon, hehe." Shiv said, not even looking up from his current activity. Trying to escape from one of the mental jackets.
Shiv continued his grin ever present on his face, "Yah, hehe, Hotstreak switched sides."
Ebon released Leo, who fell to the floor, and turned towards Shiv.
"Since when?" Ebon growled.
Shiv snickered, "Started after he got out on parole. Shocked us when he showed up a week later helpin' Rubber Band Man. Nearly electrified," Shiv let loose a giggle, "us more when he showed up helpin' Static."
Ebon's eyes narrowed.
"Actually, since he's gotten off parole, anywhere Static is, he's close by," Mimic, a boy with cropped dark green hair, said. The young teen continued before Ebon said anything, "Hacker and I were able to find out a few things about him." Ebon looked slightly satisfied.
"And?"
"Apparently, he has a job at that Community Center run by a Robert Hawkins. Puff and Onyx tried talking to him once, but was interrupted by Virgil Hawkins-the son of the Center's Manager-and Puff didn't like being cut off, so she decided to teach him a lesson. As you can see...that didn't end well," Hacker said, Leo slinking away from Ebon.
"I want you guys to find out everything," Ebon ordered, 'Flame-boy thinks he can just walk away and be a hero. Well he's wrong.'
