A/N: So...I wrote a short fix-it fic. I wasn't going to; it just happened. I'm not even sure it's any good, but I decided to stop deliberating and post it. Hope it helps.

You ain't hidin' but I can't find you

Sheet's on the line so nothing's changed

I guess there's nothing left to say

-Leavin' In Your Eyes, Little Big Town

The door to the weapons locker slides open behind her. She doesn't turn to see who it is. She doesn't have to. She knows those footsteps, the feeling of his presence in the room, by heart. She keeps her back to him, continuing to clean the gun she's holding.

She hears him pick up a gun off the rack. Put it back.

"I miss you."

"You see me every day."

"That's not what I meant," he says quietly.

"I'm not interested in being the person you sleep with to get over someone else. Having sex doesn't have to mean anything, but if you're sleeping with me to get over Skye, then you need to stop. I won't be used."

She hadn't meant to name the girl and she shouldn't have, but there it is. She glances up at him and he is looking at her with confusion lining his face.

"Who said I have feelings for Skye?"

"Don't you?" She jams the magazine back in the gun harder than she intended.

He hesitates. "No." There is another pause, then he finishes firmly, "I don't. But I do have feelings for you."

She can tell by his voice that the confession cost him a great deal, perhaps as much as it had her to hear it.

She takes a deep breath and heads for the door, stopping when they are standing side-by-side, shoulders touching in the cramped space.

"I miss you, too."

She starts to walk away, but the gentle brush of his fingertips against her wrist stop her. "Melinda..."

She hesitates, then draws her gaze slowly to his. The look on his face matches the way her heart feels.

"Please don't go," he whispers.

She should leave. She should walk out the door and never look back.

She doesn't.

Instead, she surrenders. To her desires, to his pleading touch.

She moves until she's standing in front of him, reaches up to place her hands on both sides of his face, tenderly pulls him down to her until their lips touch. He puts his hands on her waist as he returns her kiss, carefully pulling her closer. She lets him.

It's time to stop fighting—him, her heart.

She's made her choice.

A/N: So, it's not perfect and it doesn't address all the problematic stuff from the episode, but at least it got them back together and, hopefully, they can start talking and figuring it out from here.
