There was a little Shepard boy

Lost so long a go

Then he heard the angels singing

And knew just where to go

He followed the brightest star

Shinning so high above

To a quiet lonely stable

But a shelter filled with love

Long before the prophets spoke

Of a sacred night to come

With the birth of a heavenly son

And the time of sin be done

But the Shepard boy just watched in awe

As he finally understood

That the child in the makeshift crib

Would be everything kind and good
