Beautiful Hangover

I: Locked Lips

Rin Kagamine's temples were pounding with a headache. It popped sharp sparks of pain that didn't hint to be leaving any time soon, now. Her eyelids were heavy from the dictating fatigue that was draped over her body. Cold drafts scampered across her skin to activate goosebumps from the unfamiliar atmosphere of her present surroundings. And with the body aching to move, she shifted her leg ever-so slightly… only to find that a somewhat lumbering weight dragged along with it. Despite the momentary lack of sight, she quickly realized they were perhaps cuffs as a slight feeling of unease began to take over her system.

First off, Rin wasn't usually one to be put in this sort of situation, and she knew it. She saw herself as, oh how she cringed at the word, "average". To her, she was any typical teenager in high school, studying for exams at the last minute, occasionally met up with friends at any special festival, and didn't grow up with a cute childhood best friend that she'd eventually fall in love with and vice versa. Most importantly, she didn't have any moment in her life where she'd change into a dynamic character with an actual plotline. In life, Rin never really saw herself as a "protagonist". If life was fiction, she thought she would be one of those background, not even recurring, characters that were only granted a single line. She never spoke in class, and didn't do anything to attract attention.

That's just how it was supposed to be, so she wouldn't face situations such as this. Though it appeared so that God had a different trajectory for her life.

Slowly but gradually fluttering open her eyes, Rin braced for some sort of prison-like shelter to meet her vision. Instead, however, one of a simple but slightly furnished bedroom spread about. The walls were painted a warm shade of yellow with a striped orange pattern, a large window was located at the right side of the room being a barrier from a garden out back, and a chair was tucked into a table beside the bed she was on. The white ceilings were both aslope, connecting into a flat segment with a plain, circular light fixture in the center of said segment.

Somehow, it made her feel nostalgic—granting a longing feeling in her chest, it did. Even though she didn't seem to have been here before. That fact registered a fainthearted feeling inside her anew.

Like a smoker's, her voice was raspy as she screamed the first thought she had, "What's going on?!" She thrashed violently, restrictions scraping against the mattress. "Th… This isn't funny! Whoever did this, let me go now!" She had to leave, she had to go, she had to escape.

No no no no this can't be happening to me this can't be happening to me thiscan'tbehappeningtomethiscan'tbehappeningtome…

Rin continued to flail more on the bed, kicking her legs only for them to swing right back in the same spot, lashing her arms but to earn the same result, and desperate whimpers strangled out from her throat. Panic quickened her heart's beats and beaded sweat down her spine. Dozens of varying theories swirled in her numbing mind: a murderer kidnapped her to claim her as their next victim in a string of massacres, a man thought she resembled his late younger sister and cut all phone lines to prevent escape, or she was a contestant on some sort of reenactment of the Saw movies—

She inhaled and exhaled, trying to calm herself some. Maybe… Maybe she was overreacting. Maybe Lily, her older sister, decided to commit an innocent act of revenge for stealing her sweater that one time on Picture Day at school. Maybe Piko, her long-time friend since middle school arranged a little prank as payback for the time she scared him by leaping out of his closet wearing a zombie mask.

Maybe, maybe, what ifs just kept going around.

Having been telling her of these possible thoughts, she relaxed. Yes. Everything would be fine. She couldn't be a target of a group of murderers let alone bullies; she had never done anything remotely damaging to her or others' reputations in her life! She was normal. She was not a protagonist.

But then footsteps reverberated from the hallways, and the fear she felt before was renewed.

She choked back a sob. Right before crying out for help one last time.

And a bob of blond hair poked out from the doorway, curious cerulean eyes staring at her. They widened, as if only to be lightly surprised to find her, and then the owner of those eyes spoke. Her own vocal chords didn't dare to budge. Who…?

"Kagamine-san, have you come to?"

Hearing the voice, her memory jolted. The prince of her high school. The person who eerily shared the same surname as her, and who always spoke in a polite manner, but didn't share the same blood as her. His voice was kind, tender. Almost… fond. Her nerves became placid mostly, if not entirely.

She'd never spoke to him very often even though they shared a majority of the same classes. The only time they did was when they were in line for a fire drill, and she'd accidentally bumped into him from behind. She'd quietly apologized, and he appeared to take no offense—only smiling back. Quite widely, now that she recalled. People often mistook them as twins or perhaps cousins, but it was always Rin to correct them.

"Len." His name tasted strange on her tongue, metallic and only half-foreign. Like blood. Already long since acknowledging the presence of them both, and only tasting them now. With their lack of interactions, it didn't give a clue to why she was here presumably in his own home. She didn't harass or stalk him—to the very least, she'd nudged into him. But perhaps he was sensitive.

A delighted smile bloomed on Len's delicate-featured face. Soft-curving jaw, boyish lips and the warm hues that never once darkened at that moment. "You remember my name…"

Ha… They shared a lot of the same classes, and he had a high status. She'd be stupid if she didn't know his name. Rin held her tongue on that comment, though. "C-Can you possibly unlock these? Get a pin or something a-and just help me get out? I mean, not that I'm blaming you, maybe your friends did this or—" She couldn't finish, her gaze trailing to the side out of embarrassment of this predicament, only returning it upon hearing his small reply.

"Mm?" Len arched an eyebrow, genuinely perplexed. Maybe she was blabbering so much that he didn't quite hear. She had been told before she was hard to understand.

"Can you unlock these cuffs?" Rin repeated more clearly, putting emphasis on the word 'unlock', and expecting him to come over to assist. But he didn't. Rather, Len tilted his head to the side like a child would, still attempting to comprehend her question.

"Un…lock…? And leave, right?" Len clarified slowly. She blinked, growing as baffled as he was by the second.

"W-Well, yeah, um, I have schoolwork due back at my place and…" She continued to try to find excuses, but by then they didn't sound as important as they did in her mind.

Len stared at her in shock. "Why would you leave me? You just got here."

"No offense, but I-I don't really want to be here right now. I don't even know why I'm…" The rest of Rin's words screeched to a stop as she felt him reach over to stroke her face, his touch heated yet bone-chilling, not at all like his behavior from school. The pads of his fingers caressed her cheek in an agonizingly slow pace. His expression just contorted with hurt. Disappointment. Furrowed eyebrows, and a quick jump of his Adam's apple as he swallowed.

"Kagamine-san, don't you remember your promise to me?"

Feeling regretful, she quickly blurted, "I-I'm sorry! But I don't know what you're talking about!" Maybe if she'd said something else instead of blatantly saying she didn't want to be here, Len would have reacted better. She was about to apologize once more when he murmured the following words:

"Kagamine-san, you're my slave."

Rin would have laughed at his terribly forward statement, but one look at him made her realize he wasn't kidding at all. Her impending smile from amusement had fallen away, earning the sight of those soft eyes to darken to the point his pupils were almost camouflaged.

And Len pressed his hand against her own, threading his fingers around her still ones. His chest leaned against hers for her to feel the thumping. His visible emotions didn't beg to differ. He looked horrifyingly lustful. "Kagamine-san…" His hot breath hit her neck, and then the wetness of his tongue advanced there, prompting a gasp from Rin once she realized his intentions. His tone was in resemblance of an alluring spinning wheel, tempting her to go ahead and prick her fingers to sink into a world that only contained Len.

She could not. And she would not.

"Don't!" On instinct, she threw her arm out to push him off, but it didn't reach him. The handcuffs restrained her. And by now, it seemed her voice wouldn't reach any shred of sanity he had left.

"Kagamine-san…" he whispered, voice like melted honey. Having Len's head buried near her neck, his hair tickled as he continued to lick with evident desire at her patch of skin. "Kagamine-san, Kagamine-san…" Ignoring the way her cheeks grew heated, tears bubbled from her eyes as she continued to cry in protest for him to stop stop stop. He wouldn't even listen to her. He didn't listen to her frightened whimpers. He didn't listen to her soft pleas for him to stop. Len's hands only linked together as he set them beneath her neck, pressing his legs against either side of her thighs and pulling her into a passionate embrace to leave more wet kisses as his lips closed over that spot.

"Stop!" She struggled underneath him as the tears continued to fall and slip down to her ears. "If you w-want a plaything, you have plenty of girls to choose from, you…!" A breathy yelp left her throat as he started to suck relentlessly, his teeth nipping away with mild pressure, while a pleased moan escaped from his own throat. Once he was able to form a fairly dark bruise, he pulled away with a slimy smack, just the slightest amount of saliva dripping at her neck.

"But I don't want them." He wasn't going to finish the task, thank god. Len intensely regarded her with dark eyes, panting for air. "Last night… There was a party at Miku's, the teal-haired girl's place. For some reason…" His tongue briefly dabbed at his lips, as if Len was picturing himself tasting Rin again to which she trembled. "…you showed up. I was surprised, since you didn't seem like the type to be into such wild parties."

Party, party…

She eventually remembered. Miku Hatsune had thrown a party in honor of her brother joining the school for an exchange student program from America. Distinctly, she recalled Piko being by her side and guarding her from predators and then suddenly disappearing without a sound. As if she said that aloud, Len nodded.

He chuckled. "Yes, I guess you had more drinks than you could handle, haha…"

"But Len, I can't stay here!" Rin redirected her attention to the problem at hand. "My home! My older sister… You… You kidnapped me!"

"I did, but with good reason."

"L-Lily, oh god," she gasped, on the verge of hyperventilating, "she must be…!"

Len smiled, quietly shushing her and nuzzling her once again. "It's alright. It's all taken care of. Your things will arrive soon…" He trailed a finger absentmindedly over her cheek, as if he wanted to trap her once again. And truthfully at that moment, she came to the realization how tired she still was. It didn't matter if there was a psycho nearby; her body begged for sleep.

Yes. She could ask him more details tomorrow. She was certain many other girls could take her place, considering how many of the school's population he had at his whim. While she mused over this subconsciously, he managed to lay down beside her, slipping an arm around her waist to offer him a more comfortable position where he could still be close with her. Instantly, she tilted her head to look at him, whose lips had curled into a smile as his hand freely traveled down her thigh. Drawing circles with his fingers, and slipping them up her gown as he wished.

Half-consciously, she felt another tear rolled down her cheek.

Why would Len do this? He was the very last person she'd call lonely, or so she believed.

"Len, how long…?" she managed to say, trying her best not to break down right in front of him.

"Till my passing, okay?" He kissed her cheek, tenderly. Almost lovingly. Perhaps lovingly. "Shh, just go to sleep…" The last things she knew were his eyes that returned back to its usual softness, and the feeling of his satisfied digits combing through her blonde hair. And the last thought she had was...

Why did she instinctively refer to him with so much familiarity?

"Just go to sleep…"

.:A/N.:

Revised as of 4/25/2014.

Thank you all for staying loyal! And not removing this from your follows/favorites, ehe.

The reason I decided to revise the already provided chapters is because one day, I just looked at my writing and went, "Eesh." I hope the revised version doesn't disappoint. The main difference is that it has more details, writing improved, and hopefully it didn't boost down that lustful Len character.

I also wanted to revise because Rin needed a change in her character development. I didn't want her to be the damsel in distress with a lunatic who she would fall in love with from Stockholm Syndrome or something. I guess you could anticipate some strong Rin personality changes as the story progresses.
