This is a drabble from my RP blog for Usui Takumi on Tumblr but edited a little to make it slightly different. I just wanted to share this little fluffy post. Have a nice day.
Dad
His favorite thing about being a father is hearing the happy sounds coming out of Miyuki. He would smirk as she called out to him. 'Dad' Was the usual greeting. He can still remember and reminisce about her baby years and when she started to address him as Dad.
When she was a few months old, middle of her second year of life, she would crawl all over the place. He would be in the living room with her, working on a few things as she played with her toys. Normally, she'll get bored of the toys within a hour and would start crawling around, exploring making small noises as she made her way around the playpen she was in.
On one particular day, it was just him and Miyuki, he heard her shout, probably to get his attention. He was reading over the rest of the assignment, making corrections and noting a few things, deciding to finish a few more lines then attend to whatever his daughter needed, but Miyuki wanted his attention now. She made another noise hoping to get his attention, shouting across the room, but frowned when he didn't look up.
A few minutes later, he heard a 'Da!' across the room catching his attention. He looked up over to Miyuki in slight confusion, doing a double take at what he had just heard. Miyuki, noticing his shift in attention, repeated it again, 'Da!', did she just call out to him? 'Da! Da!' Her small chubby arms made grabby hands at him. A smile slipped on his face. "What did you just say, Miyuki?" He asked her. 'Da?' She replied tilting her head to the side in an adorable confused way. He dropped the papers he was holding onto the coffee table before getting up, off the couch, and walking towards her playpen getting quite excited at the sounds she was making. "Say it again, Miyuki." He told her, trying to coax the same sound out of her mouth and anxiously waited for Miyuki to call out again. A few minutes later a 'Da!' could be heard and he broke out into a happy grin. Miyuki, seeing her dad's happy expression started to repeat it over and over again as she extended her small hands out to him. 'Da! Da!' With each sound her little hands would open and close signaling him to pick her up. He snapped out of his happy daze and reached down into the playpen to pick her up. "Sorry daddy ignored you, did you want to play?" He chimed, balancing her on one of his arms, his assignments forgotten now as he smiled at his daughter's confused expression. He smirked a bit, lightly brushing their noses together and hearing her giggle."Alright, you have daddy's attention; let's go play to your heart content." He said heading toward her bedroom filled to the brim with more toys and played with her for the rest of the day.
He was quite fond of the memory and remembered doting to Misaki when she got home. Misaki just smiled, calling him an idiot at how happy and excited he was acting over a simple sound Miyuki had made. He couldn't help it, it was quite new to him and being addressed as such, made him extremely happy.
