I stretched back, letting out a huge yawn as I finished my work. I had been sitting in this uncomfortable chair for far too long, and thus I abandoned it. I stepped outside into the garden, where I always felt at peace. I made my way to my favourite bench, located in a secluded area amongst the roses, where I stretched across it, letting myself take a well-deserved nap.

It was short lived, however, when a shadow fell across me. I opened my eyes to be greeted by a pair of ocean (or are they sky?) blue eyes shielded by red-rimmed glasses. I let out a rather unmanly yelp, flattening myself against the back of the ornate bench.

"Well, howdy to you too!" the blonde, pointy-eared stranger greeted me. I belatedly took notice of the wings and tail.

"You're the Dragon prince aren't you?" I asked, feeling understandably defensive. "Here to take away a maiden in the city to be your wife?" I added, as news had gotten around that the Prince had begun to search for his mate. I felt truly sorry for whatever girl he chose. He had a reputation for being a little cruel when it came to love.

"Actually, yes, I have. And I've already chosen," he said, a little too casually. I eyed him with suspicion.

"Oh really? Who?" I questioned without interest. But I swore my heart stopped when I heard his answer.

"You."

240 words, I know. Not a lot. But this is just a prologue. There was no way I could continue normally from here. Although, this was posted on my fanwork Tumblr. (magic-pyjamas) Even though I said on there that I may not continue, I've decided to. I may even make an ask blog for them? I'm undecided. It all depends.
