Since I'm a huge Jonas Brothers fan, and I was at one of their concerts after dreaming about going to one for months and months, you'd probably assume that I was having the time of my life right now, right?
Well I wasn't.
This place was a madhouse, and for someone like me, it was all my worst nightmares come true.
I felt someone shove me roughly out of the way. I stumbled out of his or her path as quickly as I could, only to bump into someone else.
I could feel Edward's leash tangling around several people, but I kept a firm hold on the end of it. I clung to Edward's leash like a drowning person would a life preserver.
Edward was my life preserver.
I took a deep breath, inhaling all the smells of your typical concert venue. I could smell popcorn, body odor, girls wearing too much perfume, and ... pizza!
I breathed in another lung-full of its delicious scent.
Yep, it was pizza with pepperoni, ground-beef, and (I inhaled again) was that ham? Yep, all your basic meat-groups.
I started to follow the smell.
I imagined I must look ridiculous, following my nose like that. I couldn't see, but I could tell people were staring at me, I could feel it.
Whatever, let them stare.
Nothing could get in the way of me when I was hungry.
I continued on my way to the pizza stall, knocking over a trashcan, two chairs, and several people. That's right, nothing could get in my way when I was ... Ow!
I grabbed my nose in pain.
I used my other hand to feel around in front of me, and winced when my skin brushed rough brick.
Okay, so maybe a solid brick wall could get in my way when I was hungry, but still... you get my point.
" Are you okay, miss?" asked a worried male voice from behind me.
I groaned. So my little crash had witnesses. Brilliant.
"Ub, yeah, I'b fine," I responded, sounding like I had a cold because I was still clutching my nose in agony.
I couldn't see, but in my head I imagined him raising an eyebrow.
"Well, okay... but if you'll follow me, I'll get you some ice for your nose," he offered kindly.
He obviously didn't believe I was fine. Nobody ever believes me. Then again, I probably looked terrible right now, so maybe he was just being nice.
"Oh...okay then," I said.
My nose was throbbing pretty badly, so I had to give in.
In my minds eye I could see him smiling kindly.
"Follow me," he said.
I tugged on Edwards leash, and he immediately started leading me after the kind stranger. I smiled to myself. Edward was such a smart dog.
