Just Ordinary May: A Contestshipping Story
One sunny morning, May was walking by herself on a path, thinking about her next Contest, when she looked up and noticed a rose in front of her.
"What the...Drew?" May said, confused.
"How are you doing in your Contests, May?" Drew asked his rival before tossing her the rose.
"Well, I have three ribbons so far, and my Skitty is doing great!" May replied.
"That's...interesting," Drew said.
"Thanks." May replied. Drew was silent for a while, head down, his eyes closed. "Drew, Drew!" May's voice snapped him out of his thoughts.
"What?" Drew said.
"You were totally spaced out." May told him.
Suddenly, Drew had an idea. A way to tell May how he felt about her.
"May?" he asked.
"Yes?" May replied.
"Can you follow me for a bit? I have something I want to show you." Drew said mysteriously.
"Um...Okay?" May answered, wondering what Drew wanted and why he was being so nice. He led her up a few streets and then told her to close her eyes.
Drew took her to his favorite place, a garden full of roses.
"Ok, you can open them now." Drew whispered.
May slowly opened her eyes and gasped. "It's beautiful." she whispered.
"Not as beautiful as you," Drew said. May froze. Did he just say I was beautiful? she thought.
"B-but, I'm just...me. Just ordinary May." May said, looking down at the ground.
"And that's who I love. Just ordinary May." Drew said.
"Do you mean it, Drew?" May asked, who couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"Yes, I do." Drew said sincerely, looking into her brown eyes with his emerald green ones.
"Prove it. Prove that you mean it." May challenged him.
I know just how to do that. The question is, will she like it? Drew thought to himself. "Ok, close your eyes and keep them closed." he told her.
May closed her eyes, and then felt soft lips touch her own. Her eyes flew open, only to close a split second later. She leaned into the kiss, showing Drew how much she loved him, how she had been hiding her feelings all this time. Too soon, Drew pulled away. "Is that good enough?" he said with a gentle smile.
"Yes, and I love you too, Drew." May replied with the same soft smile on her face.
"Hey, look, the sun's setting." Drew said.
"Want to watch it together?" May asked.
"Of course." Drew replied with a quick kiss and a flip of his hair. So they watched it together, and by the time it went down, May was fast asleep in Drew's arms.
Drew gently picked her up, and carried her out of the garden to a Pokemon Center where they could stay the night. Drew got the key to a room with one double bed, and set May down in it softly. He then lay down next to her and wrapped his arms around her. Drew's last thought before he fell asleep was I wonder what tomorrow will bring.
A/N:
Before you ask, there be NO sequel. I don't know how to write one, and this is my first (revised) story. Just leave it up to your imagination as to what happens.
