A/N: Another entry into Vicky199416's Happiest moment challenge. I'm hoping to do all 52 characters…
This one is Draco Malfoy's.
I had been waiting for this moment ever since my fifth year, which marked the return of the Dark Lord. So had the rest of the Slytherins, but few were actually experiencing it. To actually have this happen to you takes a lot of work. But not for me; My father did the work for me. I am nervous, though.
I look around the room, at all the older, more experienced Death Eaters, who were called here for the ceremony. There sure were a lot of them.
Deep cleansing breathes, I think. I cannot look unsure, or like I can't handle the pressure. If I ever needed to look confident, this would be the time. I smile, as my father pushes me towards the Dark Lord.
After looking at me, the Dark Lord faces his followers, and says, "My loyal followers, we have joined here today to recruit another Death Eater to our ranks. He has shown that he is worthy of this prestigious position."
These words make me more nervous. I wouldn't really say that I proved myself….I didn't actually kill Dumbledore. Snape did…..
The Dark Lord turns to face me, and takes my left arm. He raises it, as he says, "Do you, Draco Malfoy, promise to always be loyal to me and my Death Eaters, to never betray me or tell our secrets? Do you promise to come at my will, and never refuse to do my bidding?"
I feel proud, as I say, "Of course I do." I see my father's face, flushed with happiness and pride.
The Dark Lord continues, "And, most of all, do you believe fully and wholly in our cause? Would you die for it?"
There's a moment of silence, before I respond, "Yes. I fully promise."
"Very good," The Dark Lord says, before taking out his wand and branding me with the Dark Mark.
It hurts a little, but I hardly notice, because I am so happy and excited. This is the start of a new life for me; A life that I have been waiting for; A life that is perfect for me.
This, I realize, is the single, most happiest day of my life.
A/N: hope you enjoyed this.
Review, please. Thanks!
