Author Notes: This is my first Buffy fanfiction so please give me any feedback you have, this is only PART ONE of the story. Thanks for feedback in advance, I apprecipate it alot. Also I don't own any of these characters they belong to Joss Whedon.
Dedication: To the wonderful gals who helped me beta'd and helped me figure out where this story should go. I couldn't have written this story without you Kristen, Becca or Annie. You three gave me so much inspiration. You have helped so much realize what my story needed.
Spike looked down from the Summers roof top waiting for the Slayer to return home, with her red-haired best friend following her like a puppy dog. He had been spying on her all night, after he'd seen her dust a vamp. It was time to make sure she died. He had killed a couple of slayers in the past but this one he had been having trouble with. But no longer, he was going to kill the slayer tonight.
Suddenly, he saw a woman carrying grocery bags, walk towards the Slayer's house from across the street. He had been thinking so much about killing the slayer; he never even noticed the woman was coming to this house. She walked up towards the door of the Slayers home.

Joyce walked along the walkway towards the house with a steady pace but she sensed someone's eyes on her, she glanced to each of her sides slowly hoping whatever or whoever was watching her wouldn't realize she have sensed them. She started to walk faster as she stared at the main door in front of her, she never realized before how long the walkway really was or was it just her frightened state? Suddenly she sensed eyes looking down on her, but how was someone looking down on her? Shivers went down her spine, her body stiffened up. Then out of nowhere a man with a pale calm looking face was between her and the entrance to her safe home. She dropped the bags of groceries she was carrying from the store.
The strange man had white blonde hair, a long black leather jacket, black jeans and a black top. The tranquil looking face caused her body to shiver even more as she stood there blocked from her door. Then she looked into his eyes, she saw nothing, not a glimmer of a soul or heart in his eyes.
"So this is Mother Dearest?" Spike said with a sneer.
"Who...are..." Joyce started, almost not getting the words out of her mouth. The man in front of her smiled evilly. She wanted to run, but she knew she wouldn't get far and she didn't even know if her legs would respond. They seem to be getting weaker every second she continued looking into his eyes.

Spike stared into Joyce's eyes and realized this was better then killing the slayer. The slayer would just be dead, but this way he could torture her. She was going to suffer for stepping her little feet into Sunnydale. Spike suddenly vamped.

Joyce opened her mouth to scream but nothing came out, she stared at this man that all of a sudden had a disfigured face. His face seemed even more pastel now then before, she couldn't feel anything, her body wasn't there. She tried but couldn't take her eyes away from his. It was like he had some power over her. His face with those lines from the top of his nose up towards the forehead, they scared her more then anything else that happened in her life, the separation, the moving to Sunnydale, everything. Suddenly he showed his fangs and plunged them into her neck. She slowly fell to the ground, her knees striking the hard walkway, as the man sank his teeth into her. Deep red blood spilled from his mouth and her neck, she closed her eyes and drifted off to a place she would never return from.
