A/N: Hope you enjoy. I'm not so sure if I'm quite happy with this one, but I'm thinking about branching a story off of it. The descision is up to my reviewers, however, so decide as you read.

Disclaimer: Clearly, I don't own TNBC, although I do own Sara.

She was his ideal partner. Together they scared the residents of Halloween like no other pair could. From the second they had begun working together anyone could see how well they blended.

She had been a loner at first. She danced among the pumkin patches and graveyards at night when the moon was at its fullest and the fog its thickest, where she could enchant anyone at a distance.

Jack had been depressed. With the exception of a selective few years after the Christmastown incident, none of his plans seemed to come out right. He ran out of ideas quickly and although he had his new love, he still longed for Halloween to envoke the amount of thrill and exitement it once did. Jack began to waste away in desperation because of this and it was clear to anyone with eyes. That was when he was told about her. He heard about it on the eve of one Halloween - the shadow of a girl that entranced his residents - and decided he must see this creature for himself. He, too, was inevitably lured into obsession with her; the silk dress that reflected the moonlight, the curls that bounced as she twirled freely, the glowing white skin that gave her beauty an ethereal effect.

But the thing that most attracted him and ultimately guided his descision was her rather unique way of terrifying citizens to the core. It was not a direct way; her appearance did not give her the capacity for that. Instead it was something much different, and much darker. People would watch her with a sense of wonder, but the second they turned away a certain feeling began to worm its way into their subconcious. It became like a bad case of the flu; it would start out minor, a small uneasy feeling that something was just not right. It would progess, and soon consume almost every aspect of its victim's life, only the be gone in a flash. He would later go on to discover that it had branched off of what she had been feeling when she had entered Halloween.

He had to have her. There was no question. For days he hid in the graveyards and pumpkin patches just as she did, temporarily forgetting any and all other obligations and chasing whenever he caught a glimpse of her. Every time, she seemed to just barely escape him, laughing a chilling laugh as if it were some sort of game. Eventually, he did catch her. She fought him as if he were Oogie and not the beloved pumpkin king that she was sure to have known, but nevertheless he refused to let her escape. He was determined to strike some sort of a deal. She at first refused, claimed that she worked with no one and attempted once again running off. However, she soon discovered that his will was strong, his desires intent, and reluctantly agreed, mumbling dejectedly that she went by the name of "Sara".

The day she appeared at his side for all of Halloween to see was a joyous one for all. Not only because she was no longer regularly terrorizing the town like a certain group of trick-or-treaters, but because Jack now had someone to rule by his side. She aided his planning for Halloween each year, creating designs more terrifying than ever before. She still danced in the fog at night, but now it was in the center of town and all watched. However, Jack remained the most frightening in the eyes of all.

He was king of the pumpkin patch, she the queen of darkness. They ruled together in an alliance stronger than any love connection between them would have ever been, and he wouldn't have wanted it any other way. After all, he reserved those emotions strictly for his real queen, and no one else. Both he and Sally liked it better like that, anyways.

A/N: As I've said, the descision is all yours.
