Grandpa Got Ran Over by a Yokai
Kagome rested herself on a old tree stump as her friends began to sit down for a break after a long day's journey.
"Come on Kagome! I'm hungry!" Inuyasha yelled sniffing through her backpack for his sacred ninja food.
"In a minute now Inubaka. Now sit." She was looking through some letters and postcards her friends back in the present sent her before she jumped down the well. One of them was with her relatives who lived abroad and wrote to Kagome about how everyone was getting ready for the most wonderful time of the year. Christmas. Along with the letter she sent several recopies for fudge, fancy gingerbread, eggnog, and several carols she had sang on the streets.
Kagome had already made one of them her favorite and read it for he hundredth time. "Hmm…I wonder if I can fit this into my own life…"
With the lyric buzzing through her head the neko scrambled through her bag and grabbed a pen and a discarded sheet of algebra homework.
And this was what she wrote:
(music starts)
Grandpa got ran over by
a yokai
Walking round our
shrine Christmas Eve
You may think there's
no such thing as demons
But as for me and Mama
we believe
He'd been drinkin too
much sake
And we begged him not
to go
But he forgot his lucky
sutras
And he staggered out
the door into the snow
When we found him
Christmas morning
At the scene of the
attack
He had tooth marks on
his forehead
And the stench of
miasma on his robes
Grandpa got ran over by
a yokai
Walking round our
shrine Christmas Eve
You may think there's
no such thing as demons
But as for me and Mama
we believe
Now we're all so
proud of Sota
He's been taking this
so well
See him in there
watching sumo
Drinking pop and
playing games with Inu-Chan
It's not Christmas
without Grandpa
All the family's
dressed in white
And we just can't
help but wonder
Should we open up his
gifts or send them back?
Grandpa got ran over by
a yokai
Walking round our
shrine Christmas Eve
You may think there's
no such thing as demons
But as for me and Mama
we believe
Now the sushi's on
the table
And the pudding's
made to feed
And the blue and yellow
incense
That would just have
match the shade of grandpa's teeth
I've warned all my
friends and neighbors
Better watch out for
yourselves
They should never give
a license
To a girl who flies a
feather and plays with imps
Grandpa got ran over by
a yokai
Walking round our
shrine Christmas Eve
You may think there's
no such thing as demons
But as for me and Mama
we believe
I hope you've enjoied this. R and R.
