Disclaimer: I don't own NCIS. I'm just borrowing them for a little bit. I will return them when I'm done.
Summary: This story follows "Twilight". Is Kate really dead? Well, we won't know until next season, so this is just a little story I've come up with to help me get through the summer without going insane.
Author's Note: I have nothing to say! Just read!
Kate was lying on the ground, a bullet through her head. Tony's face was covered in her blood. Gibbs was pointing his gun at Ari. What was he going to do? He glanced down at Kate. She lay there, her eyes opened in shock. She didn't even have time to react.
Gibbs sat up with a start. His breathing was heavy, and what was that feeling? Was he scared? He shook his head, getting the thought out of his head. He looked around. He had fallen asleep at the office. And then he remembered his dream. "Kate!" He exclaimed. Kate sat up from behind her desk. She had fallen asleep on the floor. "Gibbs! Gibbs, are you alright?" She asked. She was still supposed to be taking care of him. He jumped a little. "No, no, I'm just glad you're uh, still here. Go back to sleep, dear." He said. She smiled, and laid back down on the floor. He sat down in his office chair and logged onto his computer. He sighed a huge breath of relief. He was glad she was still alive. Tony grinned. "Ha. Gibbs dreams about Kate. She dreams about you, too." He said groggily. Gibbs looked at him sideways. A look that usually meant 'say something decent or you're getting a smack'. His look of anger turned to confusion. "Did you sleep at all, DiNozzo?" He asked. Tony smiled. His eyes were bloodshot, and purple underneath. He looked wiped out. "Not a wink." He said. Gibbs sighed. "I'm taking you home today." He said. Tony frowned. "No. It says right on the bill of rights that I can be where ever I want, when I want- or something like that." He protested. "No, it doesn't. You're going home today, and you can either go on your own, or I'm going to make you." He said. Tony crossed his arms over his stomach. "Well, I guess you're going to have to make me, then." He said. Gibbs sighed. He was in no mood to have to drag one of his agents to his car and drive them home. He looked at Tony, who was grinning mischievously and looking at Kate. "Fine. You can stay- but you're not going out into the field." Gibbs said. He sat back in his chair, and started thinking about the horrible dream he just had. How could he dream that Kate was dead? It didn't make any sense to him, and it wouldn't to anyone else. He sighed, and took a sip of his coffee that always seemed to linger around his desk at any time during the day. He smiled to himself. He would never let anything like that happen to one of his agents. He drifted back to sleep, this time, dreaming about getting his boat out of his basement.
