-Prologue-

"Hey mom, where are you going?" Meadow asked, her eyes narrowing. Her mother, Lavender, was walking away from her, going a random direction from their makeshift den. Lavender just looked back at her, sadness clouding her gaze. Meadow ran over to her.

"Mother, where are you going?" Meadow's voice was almost a whine. Her father had walked out on her and her mother, and it seemed as if her mother was doing the same. Meadow rested her tail around Lavender. The blue-grey cat sat up and walked a couple tail lengths from her daughter. She looked at Meadow.

"I can't do this anymore. Living in the wild is too hard. I can't live here without your father. I am leaving, my precious Meadow. You can take care of yourself." Without hesitation, she walked away, leaving Meadow to run after her.

"But I am only 6 moons old." she whispered.

" You will do well." her mother said her last words before the forest consumed her shape. Meadow looked around. She was alone. Then, a voice, called her name. It sounded old and wistful, like it was 100 years old.

"Meadow…. Meadow…. Join us…. Join the darkness…."
