They're fighting again. Not news. Everyone is so used to it by now, no one threatens to call the police anymore. Even them are used to it, they're tired, drained, but still angry, still fighting. At least one of them is...
First sign: glass breaking. A glass of water, of wine, the window even. That's always the first sign.
He closes his eyes anticipating the next sign: screams. Her speciality.
Bellatrix was always good at screaming, especially at him. Sirius thought she had stopped with the hysteria months ago. He was clearly wrong.
"HOW DARE YOU?" She yells louder, not caring who would hear it.
"Bella..." Sirius walks towards her, trying to control her screaming, only to be nearly hit by some unknown object.
He closes his eyes for the second time, feeling his head explode. 'No firewhiskey next time' He makes a mental note while the woman screams and breaks whatever's near.
Sirius waits. They've done this before, a thousand times. She'll eventually get tired of her show and he'll finally be able to talk. And that's exactly what happens.
Bellatrix sits on the couch while he sits beside her.
"It was only Prongs, Moony and I..." He starts to explain, cautiously.
"And a damn muggle!" She retorts.
"There was no muggle."
"There's always a muggle, Sirius." Bella says, tiredly "I'm not stupid." She closes her eyes and Sirius opens his mouth to deny "I'm not blind either. Never been."
Bellatrix keeps her eyes closed not to face him and his shocked face. 'So she always knew...' She imagines that's what he must be thinking.
"Bella..." He calls her again, she senses something different coming from him, guilt, maybe. "Look at me."
"I can't do this, Sirius." She turns her face away from him.
"Yes, you can." He encourages and tries to hold her chin to look at him.
"No, Sirius. You don't understand."
"Indeed."
"I can't do this whole thing anymore!" Bellatrix gathers all her self control to say that "I'm not happy. You are CLEARLY not happy."
"Bel..." Sirius tries again.
"I'm so used to our fights that it actually surprises me when we do something different from that."
"I don't know what do you mean." Sirius says, defeated, because he knows exactly what she means, he just doesn't want to give up on them yet. Not just yet.
She stands up from the couch as if the discussion is over.
"I mean I didn't leave behind the hell I lived with our family to live a hell with you." She doesn't look at him as she walks to the door. "So I'm leaving you too."
A/N.: Hey there! I had to repost the story because there were coding problems the other time, so here it is!
so...I think I need to explain a few things that I'm sure weren't clear enough: As I already said, this fanfic shows an extremely OOC Bellatrix and a selfish Sirius. I kinda pictured Sirius was taking his relationship with Bellatrix for granted, being him the one to bring her with him when he left the Blacks, and it got to the point where not even all the gratitude she felt could prevent her from being exhausted and resentful.
That was not the best thing I've ever written, and I'm really sorry, but it was done in less than 10 minutes and no inspiration at all. I'll write something better next time.
Anyways, let me know what you think, please.
