With a barely contained smirk, the evil witch Salem hushed, "Perfectly balanced as all things should," she then vanish into a solid blue portal encasing her entire body. The huntsmen and huntresses stared at each other in shock as just beyond them, the surviving Atlas troops began to crumble. Everyone saw as several of these men and women stood in fear and confusion as their bodies scattered like dust in the wind.
"Guys," Sun moaned with wide terrified eyes as he witnessed his hand slowly break apart, "...What's happening?"
Blake rushed to his aid, only to see her friend collapse to the floor into a million little pieces. The cat girl was stunned by the loss of this man, her eyes slowly began to well up, only for her attention to drift to the side when another friend began to decay. "Blake," Ilia cried as she too, saw her hands slowly break apart. The two women stared in each other's eyes as the chameleon then glanced downward, tears dripping down her cheeks, as with a final breath moaned, "I'm sorry I couldn't it make up for my actions," Ilia then raised her head right back up, with bloodshot red misty eyes, as she spoke her final words in a high pitched broken tone, "I'm so sorry...I couldn't make it up to you."
And with that, her eldest friend had disintegrated. Blake dropped to her knees, holding back the urge to bawl her eyes out, as tears began to subtly break through. Her parents, Kali and Ghira rushed to her, each embracing their daughter in a warm hug. "It's okay sweetie," Kali cooed, "Mommy's here."
Blake did take some comfort with her loving parents by her side, but it was short lived as by holding onto her mother's hand, she felt it slowly come apart. The mother Belladonna released her grip to gain a closer look at the damage as her eyes shot wide open. Her husband shook with terror as Ghira uttered in a low broken voice, "Kali?"
The mother stared at her daughter with dismay, then back at her husband as she moaned, "Ghira...Keep our baby safe." The elder cat then shattered before her family as the two surviving Belladonnas froze with grief.
Off to the side, we find a slightly injured Weiss as her sister Winter hastened to her, with both rapiers in her hands. "Weiss!" The sister called out as she dropped one weapon and extended the younger Schnee a lift up, "We have to regroup."
However, the heiress could only look in horror as in a near instantaneous manner, her sister broke apart and scattered into the wind.
Next, we find a anxious Nora grabbing her friend's hand with a mighty grasp, while panting profusely. "Reeeeen," She cried, "I'm scared," however, the dread had only begun, as her crush's hand had essentially shattered in her tight hold. Turning to her love, Ren gave a fearful expression as Nora returned it with a look of horror, "No, noooo, NOOOOOOO!"
The ginger wrapped her love tightly, tears soaking into his clothes as the boy could do nothing, but stroke her hair and whispered, "...Goodbye." With his body completely decayed, Nora's arms had been held against her sides as she dropped to her knees and allowed herself to sob uncontrollably. Her friend Jaune sauntered over, got upon one knee and began to stroke her back.
Qrow looked onward to the broken hearts, then turn to glare at his leader, "Oz, what the hell is going on?"
Ozpin, while speaking through Oscar's body, simply answered, "There was no other way Qrow...We're in the endgame now." He too, then broke apart and scattered into the wind.
Lastly Yang, finally broke herself away from the pure shock of this situation and moved to comfort Blake in her time of need. Only to freeze with an anxious chill overflowing her body as she heard her sister cry, "Yaaa-aaa-aang..."
The blonde turned to Ruby, to find the girl hugging her sides with a pale sickly, but frightened expression across her face. "No," Yang whispered as she began to well up, "Not you too."
Ruby stared into her sister's eyes as she moaned, "I don't feel so good."
The blonde sprung forward with immense speed and held her sister close as Ruby stuttered, "Yang, I don't know what's happening."
The elder sister tightened her grasp, remembering her times with Summer as one fleeting moment came to her. "Please," Yang whispered, "Please don't leave me."
Years ago, a small blonde child is seen tugging upon the white cloak of Summer rose, with tears in her eyes moaning, "Please don't leave me."
The situation was all too real, Yang could remember how powerless she felt the day Summer walked out of her life. The day she never saw her again, Ruby cried into her shoulder as she could feel her body crumbling from her feet up, "Yang, I don't wanna go...I don't wanna gooooo!"
The blonde however could nothing to prevent this, but continue to hold the small girl tightly, all the way until her sister's body faded away.
