Author's Note: This is basically the story of Shadow's of Almia. But I added a few extra things and gave the main character the ability to talk. I hope you enjoy it!

Chapter one: A Dream!

"Capture the Pikachu!"

My heart was racing, my hand was shaking, and my knees were getting weak. I held out the styler in front of me and turned it on. Something about it made me feel, excited. I regained my strength and focused on the little mouse pokemon in front of me. Carefully and quickly I circled the Pikachu. Before I knew it, my instructor was clapping.

"Wonderful! Good job!" he walked up to me and picked up the Pikachu. "Great time, and no damage. I think you're more than qualified. Congratulations!"

A huge smile spread across my face. I was accepted into Ranger School!

"Are you ready to go to class?" a female voice said, "You're going to be in my class, I'm Ms. April."

"Of course I'm ready!" I practically screamed. She led me out of the training shed and up the path to the main school building. From there, we walked to the left and into a class room full of people who looked like they were my age. I followed her to the front of the class. I suddenly felt a little self consious in my school uniform that was too big.

"Class, we have a new student joining us today. This is Rae."

Everyone was smiling. They all looked so friendly. Except for the one boy who was sitting in front. He had a sort of silly grin on his face. I couldn't stop looking at him, but lucky Ms. April broke the silence.

"You can have the empty seat next to Keith," she pointed to the silly looking guy. I sat down next to him and smiled.

"Okay class, I guess we can make this a free study period," she walked up to a blond haired girl who sat across the aisle from me. "Rhythmi, would you show Rae around the school for me? Just a quick tour."

"Of course!" she said cheerfully. Then she got up and skipped over to me. "Hi! I'm Rhythmi!" she stuck out her hand. I shook it.

"I'm Rae," I said quietly. Ms. April left the room and at that second, everyone jumped up and circled me.

"Where are you from?" one girl asked.

"The Fiore region."

"So how long did it take you to catch that Pikachu? Like an hour?" the boy named Keith asked me that. I turned to face him.

Are you serious? I thought. He was so arrogant, and I had to wonder how long it took him to capture that Pikachu...

"Keith!" Rhythmi said before I could, "Don't be such a show off! Come on Rae, let's go on that tour."

She led me out of the class room and into the hallway. Then we walked over to the next classroom.

"This is Mr. Kincaid's class. He's really uptight and has a weird hairstyle. He uses a lot of hairspray and you can always smell it when you're near him."

We continued up the hallway and to the right.

"This is the staff room, usually only the principal, Mr. Lamont, is in there. He's a really nice guy."

She led me to the left next and opened the door. It was clearly a library, the walls were lined with books.

"This room is self-explainatory."

We walked back out into the hallway and up a huge flight of stairs. At the top, there were tables and little chairs all over the place. On the right was a pink door, on the left a blue one.

"These are our dorms. And that's Janice, she's really sweet and like a mother to all of us." She was referring to an older lady who was sweeping the floor. I was looking around the room when a loud bell made me jump.

"Well, there goes the bell! That means we can go outside."

Rhythmi led me down the stairs and out the front doors. We were walking slowly around the field talking and trying to get to know each other.

"Well," I started, "I came here on my own just to get to this school. I've wanted to be a ranger all my life!"

"I know how you feel, I've wanted to be an operator since I was little. This school is great though, and I think we can both graduate."

I was excited. My first hour at this new school and I already ad a best friend.

"Help please! Someone catch the Bidoof!" Janice called from the front of the school. The Bidoof were running around the school yeard like crazy, so I whipped out my styler.

Keith came running out of the school, laughing. "Hey, new kid! You want to make this into a little competition? I bet I can catch more than you!"

Rhythmi opened her mouth to defend me, but this time I could do it myself. "We'll just see about that!" I ran forward and captured the two Bidoof in front of me. I couldn't see what Keith was doing, but I was focused on catching more. I only managed two more when I heard him counting his out loud.

"I got five! How many did you get new kid?"

"Four-"

"Alright! That means I won!"

"You just got lucky!"

Rhythmi cleared her throat, Keith and I looked away from each other and to Janice. She thanked us and walked off the field.

"You know, I gotta say... You were pretty good for a new kid, new kid." Keith finally admitted. I smiled at him, I thought he would continue to brag, so it was a nice surprise.

"Are you serious?" I said, truely wondering if he meant it.

"Oh, Keith! You're so insensitive! You can't even learn her name? Well anyway, there's something else I want to show you. It's called Ascension Square."

"I want to come too!" Keith begged.

"Okay, fine. Let's go!" Rhythmi grabbed my hand and practically drug me down the stairs to a large statue. "This is the Pledge Stone! Oh, Rae," she turned to face me, "I hope we can stay friends forever!"

"Hey! You gotta be friends with me too, Rae." Keith ran up to me and grinned that silly grin he had back in the class room. I returned a smile.

"So now you know my name?"

All he did was grin at me. But that awkward moment didn't last, the bell rang again and cause me to jump once more. Rhythmi laughed.

"Don't worry, you'll get used to that. Come on we should get back to class!"

So me and my new friends ran up the stairs and back to the school yard. Back in class, Ms. April released us early. Rhythmi took me up to the dorms so I could properly unpack my things. Then she had me take the bunk above hers. I felt at home here.

I decided to write to my little sister. I missed her and I knew she would love to hear about my first day. So I wanted to tell her everything, and spent the reat of the afternoon writing it all down.
