BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
By: Vanessa Sgroi
Dean shifted gracefully backward, dancing away from the swipe of the clawed paw. He offered up an orchestrated care-free grin. "You ain't gettin' me that easily you mangy sonuvabitch! 'Cause I'm just that good!"
The beast bellowed; it's rancid corpse breath wafting over Dean even with the short distance separating them.
The grin widened. "You mad, bro? Ya know, my little brother gets like this when he doesn't get his beauty sleep..."
Dean danced away again, but his foot slipped, tipping him toward the next swipe. Claws glanced cross his chest. As the blood began to flow, he muttered, "Damn, I liked this t-shirt too. Now you've done it. 'Cause you see, I'm...I'm not the one you should be worried about."
A long silver blade appeared behind the creature. Sam finished his first swipe before it could even turn. The beast went down under the methodical flashing of a silver blade. "Yeah. That was my t-shirt," growled Sam.
Dean straightened, flinching as pain raced across his chest. "Good work, Sammy."
"Yeah, thanks." Sam's hands began examining. "You know, we really need to talk about your repertory of taunts."
