The Lunar Curse
When the moon rises
Full,
My enemy,
I feel the howl rise inside of me,
In my heart,
Unstoppable,
And it tears me apart.
The howl escapes,
A single call
Quavering in the frosty air.
The moon has conquered me.
Again.
Like it has every full moon.
Man or beast?
I am each.
The dreaded werewolf.
Where is the wolf?
Inside of me
Except on the nights
The moon takes control of me.
When I become the beast
And humanity flees,
I am caught in the throes of ceaseless agony:
A curse that will never be lifted from me.
