For the first time in Tauriel's life, Mereth En Gilth was not a time of celebration. It was not enjoyable. It was not a time of merry making. It was awful. It was full of sorrow on her part. But no one was to know how much she was hurting. Or why she was in so much pain. It's hard, having a chunk taken out your soul, but she managed it nobly. She needed to find someone to fill this crevice Thranduil had left after his speech. There had been one dwarf. Maybe he could help. Maybe he would hold a deep and true love. Maybe she could give him her love back...

She had tried with Kili. She had thought maybe his love would make her complete again. She had wished for it to work. But when she had tried to know him, he wanted for nothing more than her looks. His shallow love had barely made a puddle in her heart, much less filled it. And yet his death still hurt. Thrandruil had told her that her love for Kili was real. But how could he know how she felt? How could he know how Kili had felt? Maybe it was just a ploy. Everything was confusing. Nothing made sense. Except...

He made sense. Legolas. The only one she trusted. Now that she was with him again, how could anything ever not make sense? His lakes, rivers, oceans of love for her made her heart overflow. It could not hold all his love, so it expanded and became much bigger, able to give and hold more love. How could she have ever pushed him away? Legolas, the one who followed her. Legolas, the one who had risked his life to save hers. Legolas, who wanted so much for her happiness that he would support her love for anyone who could give it to her. And she had rejected him! All for fear!

But not now. Now, she was not afraid of anything. Not when he would be there. Not when he understood her in away no one else could. Not while his strong arms would be there to hold her until the tears stopped. Not when he shared all her pains willingly. Not when he gave her part of his soul to fill the gap. Not when he would never even glance at another female elf as anything more than a friend. Not when he completed her. Not when she would do all the same for him. Not when they would defend each other until death. Not when they still loved each other.

A/N - It's so fluffy I'm gonna die! I honest just wrote this because I felt a need to show all Kiliel shippers why it would never work. Please PM me if you feel differently. I'm always up for a ship war. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it!
