There was something beautiful in this.

Two hands joined together against the world.

One was strong but small and feminine.

The other was not nearly as strong but about as small as the first one; it, too, had a feminine quality but at the same time distinctly belonged to a young man.

There was a certain strength and promise of unity in the interlocked hands.

The girl wore pants and a grayish silver top; the boy wore a ruffly, pink dress.

Of course, the world cried out against this switch of gender roles, but they didn't care about what the world had to say when they were together.

They whispered amongst themselves: seemingly a silent mockery of the world.

They had each other, and that was all that mattered.

The young couple stopped, and the one in pink reached out and kissed his girlfriend.

Lips joined together in a passionate frenzy.

Their love defied the norms while simultaneously fit with in them.

They still held on tight, and Natalya still had to shoo away comments about her 'girlfriend.'

No one seemed to grasp that Feliks was a guy, simply because pink was his favorite color and that he loved women's clothes.

Natalya fit what others stereotyped as the male role while Feliks fit what society stated was the female role; what tripped society up was that Natalya very obviously had boobs while they assumed that Feliks was just a small chested or even flat chested female.

People couldn't comprehend their relationship as they felt that it should be reversed in who seemed feminine and who seemed masculine.

Natalya just happened to be more of a tomboy while Feliks contained more feminine aspects, so how could their relationship be wrong?

Personalities apparently decided genders, meaning that society just wanted to categorize people in to nice, little boxes rather than let them be who they are.

Despite their personalities, Natalya did not want to be male, and Feliks did not want to be female.

Was that really so hard to grasp?

Natalya and Feliks loved each other despite society's take on that.

Hands joined, lips locked in acceptance and love.

They loved themselves with every 'abnormal' quality that they had.

They had accepted that this would be hard from the start as it wasn't neccessarily easy to juggle a sense of self in such a harsh world.

Love for them allowed them to get through it all; the problems they faced caused by such a relationship was worth it for this all consuming and true love.
