A/N: Hi there. I'm LightwoodLady25. It's nice of you to drop by. :)

Ella needs more love. If Ella hadn't saved Will, he would have never left home, none of TID would have ever happened, and that thought is DEPRESSING. More importantly, Will wouldn't exist, and that would break my heart.

Just a couple notes:
One. I was listening to Peter Crowley's original song, "White Princess". It's on YouTube, if you want to listen to it while reading. It's a gorgeous melody.
Two. The format - it's a bit unconventional, but don't let that scare you away. I write in a mashup of poetry and prose. Basically, it's poetic sounding words and stanzas meets prose sentences.

Disclaimer: Cassandra Clare owns the Infernal Devices. I only dream about her characters as my literary babies.

"White Princess"

I saw her on the road to my childhood home.
Her unbraided hair of charcoal grey was in disarray.
She swayed with the wind through the tall grasses, bounding on bare feet.
She was freer than the birds in the sky
Dressed in unshackled white, she was ready for a dance.
"This way, love." her movement said to me.
My feet followed her beckoning hand.

Away she led me away from troubles of a childhood haunted by pain
I cared not of the reason repeating in my head:
"A city boy does not get carried away or run."
But I cared not.
All I could see was her.
I ran, racing against my mortality to follow her
For she was swift and outstretched toward the sun's eternality.
She was dancing the way sunlight bursts into rays as it tries to fish in a stream
She was healthy, breathing in the summer that could not give her supple warmth.

Reaching the water's edge, she turned to embrace me.
She whispered in my ear,
"The softening rain and the crackle of fires,
My name is Ella."
Releasing her, I dared look at her face.
She was not unfamiliar in my memory.
In a moment, away she danced,"
Away to find another soul to calm
With her breathy voice and graceful sounds.

She left me at the river's edge without words or thoughts of regret.
I will not follow her.
Ella
I cannot follow her yet.
