"If I asked you to stay, would you?"
Her words rang in her mind, over and over, like a tape recording that lacked a stop and a pause button. Of course she would stay. She wanted to stay with her forever, by her side, and protect her from anything that could cause her vulnerable little self any sort of harm.
The raindrops fell quickly over them and all the cluttered residue scattered about.
"S-Stay... wi... with... me, Homura..." Once again, she asked the same thing. Unlike before, it wasn't heartwarming.
Cracked, weak pleas are all she is able to decipher. Although she asked for such a selfish request, Madoka was not well, like she was. There she lied, on the floor, struggling to regain her pants. Her body curled and arched as the pain surged through her body, letting out screams of excruciating pain. Her torn, gloved hands, bloody and all, balled up as she tried to contain her cries of pain. "AaaaAAAAHH!" Fresh tears pooled up in her eyes, quickly cascading down her dirty cheeks and mixing in with the thick rain droplets. "P-Please, Homura!" She managed to shakingly lift up a hand towards the raven-haired girl, who said nothing. "D-don't leave me..."
No more crying. No more tears.
Homura stepped away from Madoka, face emotionless. So many times she had been fated to die here, to be killed by her. Homura had learned that she shouldn't be attaching herself to Madoka like this...
Because, this was the end of a tragedy.
Madoka was waiting for her in the end of a fairytale, not a tragedy.
And so, with the aim of her gun, in an emotionless gaze, Homura pulled the trigger, not able to fathom the tears that glistened from her own violets.
"Stay."
