It was an early morning in the spring and Kurosaki Kensuke was awake at the crack of dawn pacing around his room. The night before he got a call that his best friend Kizami Yuuya was admitted to the hospital. Kensuke knew it was his brother that hurt him, but there was nothing he could do. He felt so helpless not being able to protect his best friend.

When the clock by his bed rang his alarm to let him know visiting hours were opening soon he took off down stairs and out the door not saying a word. Kensuke jumped on his bike peddling as fast as he could, the only thought in his mind is getting there and being by his side.

Kensuke was out of breath when he reached the hospital and did not even take the time to wait for the elevator. He ran up the stairs and to the room he was told he was in. At the door to the room he paused finally to catch his breath as he looked over the sleeping form of Yuuya. Not wanting to wake him he very quietly slipped into the room taking a seat next to the bed. Tears stung at his eyes then slipped down his face at the thought and sight of him laying there hurt.

Kensuke sat there watching him sleep, his hand resting over Yuuya's. He closes his eyes and starts to speak to him, his voice very soft like a whisper. "I am so sorry I could not have been there for you last night. It is all my fault I should not have let you go home alone. I promise I will always be here for you….I am yours and you mine." As Kensuke speaks he does not realize that Yuuya is watching him through his lashes.

What Yuuya does shocks Kensuke. Without any regard to if anyone is watching Yuuya pulls Kensuke down softly kissing his lips. With a sweet smile that many do not see out of him he repeats those words back to Kensuke. "I am yours and you are mine."

The two young men spend the entire day just talking. Kensuke moved to where he could hold his friend. Dreams of a life away from Yuuya's family and how much better it will be after school were the main topic as the two clung to each other.

To this day those words still ring true between these two young men. They will forever be together, no matter what life throws at them.
