Crimson Butterfly
Sakura looked horrible. Her waist-length pink hair clung to her body from the heat of the scorching summer's night. Her lipstick was stuck on the edge of her lips and her ebony eye shadow clunked in to the creases of her eyes. Her eyes were red and puffy but you could read nothing from them, there was no emotion. Sasuke's crimson bloodstained her extravagant lacy dress. She twirled a cigarette between her two fingers but other than that she looked like a rag-doll weak and powerless in the back seat off her best friends car.
Of course Naruto felt terrible for Sakura, her bestfriend and manager was assassinated in front of her and the same person threatened her life. The thing that made him feel worst was the fact that the assassin was most likely some druggie trying to rob Sakura because she was a rich pop star and he needed his drugs. Or it could have been more serious. Naruto didn't know what happened and Sakura didn't tell him.
" Sakura you don't smoke, I know you're smarter that that." Naruto said trying to break the silence but be comforting at the same time.
Sakura didn't say anything she just stared out the car window watching the streetlights pass by. She watched other people get on with their lives.
Naruto has felt pain like this before, He grew up with no one, until he had met Itachi and Sasuke, they were also orphaned. They took him in when no one else would. Naruto realized you couldn't comfort someone as well as you wish when you're hurting too. So he took Itachi's advice and left her along on the trip.
Sakura had fallen asleep in the back of Naruto's car, but had been awaken because of a series of small bumps.
"Naruto where are we going?" Sakura breathed, her voice was still hoarse from her singing the night before.
"Somewhere safe!"
Sakura turned in her seat and listened to the bird's chip and the other animal's scurry.
"That sounds wonderful" She said with a tiny smile.
Naruto's heart almost broke he couldn't do this to Sakura, she loved her job and he knew it would make matters worse if he took her to a place where she couldn't perform but, Naruto also knew it was for her own good. If Sasuke couldn't protect her then how could he? He needed help from a good friend.
"Sakura, wake up! We're here."
Sakura's eyes fluttered open, She frowned in distasted..
"Where is Sasuke?"
Naruto knew she would come out of denial eventually.
"He's somewhere safe."
"Where are we?"
Naruto was debating whether or on to tell her the truth.
"Gaara's house, It's safe here."
Sakura's mouth dropped open.
"But he hates me." Sakura couldn't help smiling, It was beautiful out side. The mid-morning sun made the sky a mixture of tangerine and rose and she could see a beautiful crimson butterfly in the distance.
Author's note- Sorry if it was confusing. When you get deeper in to the story Sakura tells Gaara what really happens and why she say's that Sasuke is not dead. Please review
