"This is great."
"I told ya.."
"I can't believe we didn't do this years ago."
"Yes, well... Let's not dwell," Jack murmured softly into her hair, kissing the top of her head tenderly.
Sam sighed contentedly, snuggling further, if that were possible, into Jack's side. She'd spent the afternoon snuggled against him, passing the time with sweet kisses with the man she was finally able to be with, the man who she knew would always be there for her, the man she loved. She had longed for this opportunity, this love, forbidden for years.
At the sound of a car pulling up outside the cabin, she raised her head, giggling silently as Jack rolled off the sofa, muttering something incoherent about Daniel, and timing. She stood, going to the window and looking out across the serenity of the lake, stretching into the distant trees on the far side. Frowning, she mentally noted that she hadn't seen a single ripple on the water in the few days she'd been there.
"There are no fish in your pond, are there?"
Jack turned from the door, grinning lopsidedly back at her, as Daniel and Tea'lc laboured past outside with a cooler box.
"Nope."
