After long hours of an endless fight, the Dark Mater finally threw Spyro away. The young dragon fell on the ground, weak.

"You thought you were stronger than me?" said the Dark Master, a grin on his bloody face.

The malefic dragon walked to Spyro, ready to finish it. But suddenly, Cynder arrived in front of Spyro, face to face with Malefor.

"Hmm...You want to die first, huh? Hehehehe..." laughed Malefor.

"You will be the only one to die." replied Cynder, trying to hide her fear.

Malefor didn't reply. He ran to Cynder, and the black dragoness jumped on the side. The malefic dragon followed her, and used his shadow breath. Cynder avoided it, but she fell on the ground, the Dark Master hit her with his powerfull tail. He blocked her so she couldn't attack or stand up. He took her neck betwenn his teeth, and threw her away. Just like Spyro, the young dragoness fell on the ground.

"You betrayed me, Cynder!" yelled Malefor, talking about the time when Cynder was under his control.

"Just like you betrayed the other dragons!" the black dragoness suddenly replied.

"Enough!"

Right after, Malefor walked to Cynder, but a fireball stopped him. He turned his head, and saw Spyro, smoke going out of his mouth. The young dragon walked to him, shaking because of all the blood he was losing.

"Do you want to kill her, or me?" said Spyro.

Cynder immediately understood, and she yelled:

"Spyro, no! Don't do this!"

"I don't have the choice, Cynder...I don't want....I don't want you to die..."

Cynder started to cry a little, she tried to stand up, but she couldn't, she was too weak.
Malefor didn't wait. He walked to Spyro.

"Your legend is over, dragon..." said the Dark Master, smiling.

He stood on two paws, and roared. Spyro knew what was gonna happen, that was the only way to finally stop it.

"Let's end it." Spyro said to himself. He looked at Cynder one last time, then closed his eyes, trying to not think about what was going to happen.
Malefor unleashed his stronger fury: a dark fury. Spyro got hit, he yelled in pain, before falling on the ground. But he was still alive. He looked at the Dark Master, who fell as well. The dark dragon used too much of his energy in the fury, he wasn't breathing anymore.

"We did it..." said Spyro, before coughing blood.

Cynder ran to him, ignoring her pain. She put her head on the Spyro's bloody shoulder. The black dragoness cried.

"Spyro! No...Tell me...Tell me you're okay!"

"Cynder...Don't cry...I will...Always be there... In your heart...To give you hope..."

"No, don't say this!" Cynder pleaded, crying like she never did. "Spyro, please! No..."

"Good bye, Cynder... "

The purple dragon closed his eyes, he wasn't breathing anymore. Cynder cried even more, she couldn't believe it, she didn't want to. She stayed next to her best friend she ever had, all night. She couldn't realize that all was over.
