Sera always liked Eva, but she never really trusted her until...
They're trapped in the Fade.
Fuck.
This is exactly what the reedy little archer was scared of when she signed up for the Inquisition's shite. She knew the risks that came with traveling with the Inquisitor and her posse of misfits. She still wasn't prepared for this.
Her body is trembling. Her palms are sweating.
Bull tries to make a joke but all she hears is "...in case something possesses me."
Her grip tightens on her bow. "Possessed!? I don't wanna be possessed!"
This is such shit. She hates demons. She hates all this stupid wavey greeny Fade bullshit and she just wants to go home to her room in Skyhold where things are real and the sky is pretty and the only spirit shit she has to deal with is from Cole.
She's scared.
She's terrified.
And then, suddenly and without warning, Eva's hands come down on her shoulders. The Qunari holds her firmly, as though trying to still the elf's soft shaking. Her hands are so big and warm and the way they squeeze into the muscles of her back is comforting. Eva's eyes are intense, hard, and the look makes Sera's heart beat faster.
"Calm down, Sera. No one is getting possessed. I've got this."
Sera wonders how she can look so calm, so confident. Here she is shaking like a child and this woman, this incredibly pretty and amazing woman that's been carrying an entire legion on her shoulders despite never having asked to or knowing how, looks like she's ready to take down an entire demon army.
Right now, she honestly believes she could.
And right now, she would follow her anywhere.
"You promise?"
"I promise."
Sera shakes her head, blonde bangs swinging wildly, and the next time she looks at Eva, she makes a point to look less shaken. "Alright, Inky. Lead the way."
Sera is not above holding her girlfriend's hand as they navigate their way through the stupid Fade and Eva doesn't mind the way the elf clutches her arm when the Nightmare Demon spooks her.
