Of evil plans and wicked carpets
Chloe Queen was in a hurry. It wasn't anything new; she was used to always be running everywhere, always thinking about the one hundred things she could be doing in that moment. Her husband always joked about the reason of her never-ending frenzy being the amount of caffeine on her veins. She always replied to him that given a choice between caffeine and him, he probably wouldn't like the answer.
Balancing a cup of coffee, her phone and her purse, she headed to the front door in quick steps but she tripped with the rug and all the contents on her hands went flying. Luckily she was able to save her phone (the most valuable item, hands down) but the rest scattered on the floor.
She cursed loudly and then heard a soft laugh behind her.
"You know" she said without turning around "you really should do something about this carpet. If you don't it might just be the end of our marriage"
Oliver laughed harder and crossed the living room.
"Ah, but you see, it's all part of my evil plan" he said picking up her purse "It slows you down enough so I can get a morning kiss out of you" he grinned flirtatiously and handed her the purse, but when she tried to took it, he put it out of her reach and winked.
Chloe smiled exasperatedly and rolled her eyes, but she went on her tiptoes and brushed her lips against his. When he tried to deepen the kiss, she took advantage of his distraction and grabbed her purse.
"I've learned some tricks of my own too, hero" she smiled triumphal walking to the door.
"This is not over, you know, I'll be all day planning my revenge"
"You better" Chloe replied "And get rid of that wicked carpet!"
