It's hardly a secret that Logan's bad with words. One could even go so far as to say that it's a well known fact. It's certainly been the reason several of his past relationships have ended.
This time though, this time it'll be different. This time he'll manage it, this time he'll do it (even if it kills him, and dammit it might just because he's not sure if he can do this), because Kurt needs it.
So he goes to Storm (because he knows his limits, and this is definitely one of them). A few minutes into a fumbling attempt to explain why he's there, she takes pity on him and says, "It's about you and Kurt, isn't it?" in that cool, clear, sensible, capable voice of her's that makes Logan want to bow down and kiss her feet.
Her advice boils down to 'start small and take it slow'. Well, it isn't exactly the silver bullet he was hoping for (when did he start believing in things like perfect solutions? The Elf must be rubbing off) but he's followed worse before, so he decides to go for it.
The mission was hard -Kurt had gotten hit after their enemy had reflected one of Cyc's lasers. Nothing serious, but bad enough that Jean had to take a look at him, bad enough that she asked Logan to take bring him to his room.
Kurt passes out a few seconds after Logan deposits him on his bed and he's about to leave when he looks back. The Elf looks so damn tiny and vulnurable(and heisn't either. Is this what loving someone is like? Wanting to protect them from the world?).
Screw it, he thinks, and slides into bed behind Kurt.
Maybe he'll be able to show with actions what he can't say with words.
