The undead. Creatures of the night. Evil. Echo hated that word. She was not evil. Just the word left a bad taste in her mouth. She sat cross legged on the rug in front of the mirror.

Nothing. No reflection. She looked down. Her body was there, where it should be. She rolled her eyes and stood. Moping wasn't going to change anything.

Damian watched her as the got to her feet. Such grace. The long raven colored curls cascading down her back shook gently. She turned and their eyes met. The brilliant blue often took his breath away, so to speak. They were a clear, crystal blue that one only read about in books.

Her lips the color of a red rose. The pale color of her skin contrasted wonderfully with the black clothes she wore. Stunning. God how he loved her.

"Did you find anything last night?" He asked, dragging himself away from thoughts of her beauty.

"No. Jasmine's been cleaning up after herself." Echo answered. Ivy walked down the stairs, rubbing sleep from her eyes. She waved in greeting.

"Did you-" Damian began to ask the same question he'd asked Echo but Ivy shook her head, cutting him off.

"Nothing." She said on a yawn. Her platinum blonde hair hung in her chocolate brown eyes. Her black sweat pants hung low on her hips, showing her milky white mid-drift. She was beautiful, yes, but didn't seem to have the innocence surrounding Echo.

"The forcast said rainy. Nearly no sun." Echo said, desperate to be on the move. She longed to hunt the evil that was now consuming the town.

"Echo we're not going out there!" Ivy said, wide awake and reeling from her best friend's suggestion. Damian understood. When the killings had started she'd been blamed by their clan because she was young. Now she was out to prove the wrongness in their accusations.

Damian had kept her from being banished. He was next in line to be leader and, had they decided to make Echo leave, he would have gone with her. She'd been under his wing since he'd sired her.

"She's right love. I know you want to fix everything. Give it time pet. We can't be walking out in broad daylight. It's too risky." He said. Echo nodded obediently. She knew they were right. They'd be chancing their lives bye wandering outside.

"Alright." She agreed sot they'd stop looking at her. She hated being the youngest. It always made it seem like she was wrong about everything.
