They weren't sure how it happened. Maybe it was the work of a higher force or maybe the universe aligned just right. No matter how it happened, it was confusing for those involved.

One moment Lucifer was in the pitch black confines of the Cage (Michael was probably off in another corner sulking and praying to their absent father) and then the next moment everything was replaced with an almost-blinding white that seemed to stretch forever. But faintly, he could still feel the Cage; still trapped it seems.

"You wouldn't happen to know what's going on, would you?" Lucifer looked to the side to see a man (presumably British, judging from the accent). He appeared to be too relaxed and calm for this situation.

He completely turned to face the stranger. "No, I don't. Who are you?" He knew that a human would be panicking (unless he was just a really odd human).

The man grinned. "Lucifer Morningstar. And you?"

Expertly, Lucifer hid his shock as the mystery slowly started to make sense. It was a theory that, in the alternate dimensions, there would be alternate versions of themselves (themselves referring to the angels). Lucifer had heard a story, a long time ago, before his fall, about another version of Gabriel, this one supposedly evil and wanting the end of the world. Or something along those lines.

But, before he could think more, his attention was brought back to alternate-Lucifer who appeared to be getting very impatient. "Lucifer." He answered.

Alternate-Lucifer seemed torn between anger and confusion. "Another imposter?" He asked, though it was more directed to himself. "Or... a meeting of two dimensions?"

"I suppose the latter."

"Tell me, are you still in Hell or did you leave like I did?" The other Lucifer asked, looking extremely curious.

Lucifer raised an eyebrow at this. "I can't leave Hell, I'm trapped in the Cage."

"The Cage?" Alternate-Lucifer echoed, sounding intrigued. "That doesn't exist in my dimension."

Lucifer thought back to what other Lucifer said earlier. "Why did you leave Hell? Was it to start the Apocalypse?"

"Of course not!" He sounded almost insulted at the accusation. "The humans are fascinating, I don't want to kill them."

Now it was Lucifer's turn to act insulted. The idea that even another version of himself actually liked humans was shocking and slightly disgusting. "How could humans be fascinating? They're flawed, repulsive creatures."

The other Lucifer took a step back in surprise. "Yes, they're flawed but I wouldn't call them repulsive. If you just pay attention, they can be quite interesting."

Lucifer didn't get a chance to answer before the white and alternate-Lucifer started fading away, slowly being replaced by the blackness of the Cage that seemed to stretch forever.

All of Hell felt the furious, yet futile, attack of Grace on the walls on the prison.

A/N: I really hope I got everyone in character or at least close; I've never written either before. Also, the alternate Gabriel mentioned is from the Prophecy (well, that's what I had in mind, anyway).
