One Last Dance
She was hurting, that much was clear to him. Of course, if the whole world was watching, they would be able to figure it out too. Ron's departure had left her empty like when Ron had been dating Lavender. He missed the old bossy, know-it-all Hermione that was helping him figure this out. He watched her stare at the radio that Ron had left, hugging her knees to her chest, wanting nothing more than to be the one to comfort her, to make her smile and be the one who had captured her heart.
He gazed at her a little while longer as an idea formed in his mind. It would be a long shot but if it brought a smile to her face again it would be worth it. Even though his heart was suddenly pounding, he got up, walked over to her and held out his hand. After a few heart stopping moments she took it. He pulled her up, took the locket off from around her neck and turned up the music. He started swaying with her ignoring her 'must I?" look as the music picked up. Slowly, she smirked which eventually became a full blown smile with laughter as they twirled around in the tent.
All too soon the song was ending and they were swaying to the last couple of notes. He found that he didn't want to let her go, that he wanted to be the one to be the cause of the smile that appears on her face. But, he knew he had to let her go. If he truly loved her, which he did, he would let her go. Let her choose the guy for her and if it wasn't him, he would be happy for her. So when the song ended he let her go, allowing her to take a part of his heart with her.
The End
