Duncan and Courtney had been going through a rough patch.

"You need to act more like a parent!" Courtney shouted.

"I'm so sorry that I still like to have fun." Duncan said sarcastically.

"You need to change. For me…and for him." Courtney stated.

Duncan rolled his eyes. "Princess-"

Courtney whipped her head around. "And another thing, we aren't kids anymore! I told you to stop calling me that years ago! Just…grow up."

"Courtney," Duncan spoke up at the dinner table. "Could you pass the salt?"

Courtney gave a surprised look at her husband. "Uh, sure…" She responded and passed the salt.

"Mommy," Their child, Danny, said. "I thought your names was Pwincess." The two-year-old still had trouble talking correctly.

Duncan gave a small smile. "Mommy's name is Courtney." Courtney's half-smile dropped.

Throughout the rest of the week the word "Princess" was not used. Not once. Courtney was seriously disturbed by this. Was he feeling all right? Did he need to go to hospital?

That wasn't the only thing wrong with him. He seemed….different. Less of the fun-loving Duncan she knew and loved and more…serious.

"Well," Courtney thought. "It's about time."

However, she still found herself worried and angry he was acting this way.

"Mommy," Danny walked up to Courtney. "Daddy said he won't play the Elevator game with me anymore."

Courtney was shocked. Duncan's favorite game to play with Danny was to pick him up like an elevator and swing him around. Courtney hated the game in fear that Danny would go flying out of his arms. "He won't?"

Danny nodded and sniffled. She took him up in her arms and cradled him to sleep.

Courtney couldn't focus on her book because she was thinking about Duncan. He sat next to her in the bed, watching the news instead of sports or a dumb cartoon.

"Hey Court-"

"THAT'S IT!" Courtney yelled. "I have had it with this! What is wrong with you?"

Poor Duncan was sitting there terrified. "I don't…what?!" He replied.

"Watching the news, not playing with Danny, calling me Courtney?!" She said her name like she was cursing. "What's the deal?! Because it's driving me nuts!"

"What?! You're the one that told me to do those things!" Duncan yelled back.

Courtney was fuming but at the same time a little happy, he was arguing back instead of being how he was lately, boring. "I-well…I-" She sighed. "I guess…I guess I was wrong…"

"I'm sorry, what was that?" He teased.

"I was wrong, okay?! I shouldn't have asked you to change…"

"And why not?"

"Because….because I love you just the way you are?" She ended the sentence in a question.

"Woah now, don't sound too confident Courtney." He said sarcastically.

"Princess." She corrected. "You should call me Princess again…"

Duncan smirked and pulled her closer to him. "Good, because it was driving me crazy too."
